A difficult time for Barack Obama's fans

It's becoming harder and harder for members of Barack Obama's fan club to defend their hero — as least when it comes to his defense for NSA spying.

As I documented in a previous blog posting, the president's director of national intelligence, James Clapper, apparently lied to Congress when he was asked if the NSA is gathering data on millions of Americans.
The president now owns that falsehood. He didn't fire Clapper or publicly repudiate him. Instead, Obama's press secretary, Jay Carney, went out of his way to praise Clapper's supposed candor during a June 11 press briefing:
Q. Is the President satisfied that the American people are getting straight answers from their leadership when it comes to American intelligence?
A. MR. CARNEY:  Well, he certainly believes that Director Clapper has been straight and direct in the answers that he's given, and has actively engaged in an effort to provide more information about the programs that have been revealed through the leak of classified information.
(The transcript is here.)
So, what's James Clapper up to now? Excerpt from a CNN report: "An administration official said Monday that Obama had asked his intelligence chief James Clapper to determine whether additional information about the data collection programs can be made public, part of what the official described as a 'broader effort the president is undertaking to have a dialogue on protecting privacy in the digital age'."
So the guy who gave a false statement to Congress, under oath, gets to decide the contents of the next White House press release on domestic surveillance?

Truly 4shizzle--- More of that good ole Bagger education...only taught in home schools. :}

You get a morsal of information and then twist it into nonsense. Bush took aprox 25% more vacation time than Obama for the same period of time and is a documented fact. But the blind followers who can't think for themselves declare it's 3 times as much and pepper their responses with childish comments. Your ignorance knows no limit and you need some basic math skills too

Yeah and was the White House tours ever closed during Clinton or the Bush's terms because of sequestration? No they weren't. Just think how many tours could be held for kids.

You cry about the facts from Fox news, but you don't mention where you get your news. So where do you get your news?

The Big Dog's back

Are you for real?

They get their news from the Communist News Network,CNN.Every public place has them on in their waiting rooms. The first thing I do is change it to the real news, that gives both sides.CNN is considering replacing Wolfe because he is getting too old,Dah !

@meowmix Ya' know..for a self-proclaimed "progressive," you sure like to dwell in the past. There is a difference between learning from the past and dwelling in it. For real, though.
By the way, Bush going home to his ranch that he owned (and, therefore, did not cost a million dollars to visit), and where he had an office to conduct presidential affairs from, isn't really a problem if you actually think about it.

He certainly is not the king of vacation days. That honor falls to President George W. Bush, who racked up 1,020 vacation days in his eight years in office, including one five-week vacation, the most of any president in 36 years.
President Obama in his first four years has taken 131 days, dividing his time between Hawaii, Martha’s Vineyard and, of course, Camp David, the official get away of U.S. presidents. At this rate, he could hit 262 days by the end of his eighth year, about average for modern presidents.

There you go again

Is it cheaper for a president to go to Hawaii for a vacation than to his own ranch in Texas?!?! Just wondering.......

Its gotta be difficult due to the mess that was left to him when he was voted in and I am one that thinks that its going to take more then 8 years to clear this mess up , We are going to feel the punch for many many years to come . . And its also going to a commentment of the house as well as Congress to take care in solving the problems we face .You can not point to just the President or Congress or the house without pointing to all ,Its going to take team work and if they can not come to terms on a budget that would be in the best intrest of the country , then they will never solve other problems

The Liberals "Tested" the water in Ohio on the Smoking Ban. When close to 287,000 signatures were found to be be Illegal, adresses allowed from Motels, and Signature takers that were from other states, the Liberals knew that anything goes in Ohio. In fact for a job well done, Richard Cordray wa gioven a "Position" in Washington D.C. You set back and allow wrong doing when it doesn't involve you, don't complain when it does. You can give a reason why Bush or Clinton should have been impeached but O'Bama's list continues to grow. The one thing that He has going for Him is Joe Biden would take over the presidency. Had O'Bama chosen Hillary this time for His running mate the Impeachment process would have already started, Biden for President!

You are correct on the mess that O'bama inherited but you dates a wrong. He has inherited a mess in 2013 that He alone has caused from 2009-12. Your very intelligent Potus made all the promises that He not only has fauled to live up to but really isn't interested in accomplishing anything but the Health Care Bill that is complete destruction of everything America stand for.

EZOB - you watch too much FOX.

Agreed! Waaaaay toooooooo much!

"The National Security Agency has acknowledged in a new classified briefing that it does not need court authorization to listen to domestic phone calls, a participant said.

Rep. Jerrold Nadler, a New York Democrat, disclosed on Thursday that during a secret briefing to members of Congress, he was told that the contents of a phone call could be accessed "simply based on an analyst deciding that."

If the NSA wants "to listen to the phone," an analyst's decision is sufficient, without any other legal authorization required, Nadler said he learned. "I was rather startled," said Nadler, an attorney and congressman who serves on the House Judiciary committee.

Not only does this disclosure shed more light on how the NSA's formidable eavesdropping apparatus works domestically, it also suggests the Justice Department has secretly interpreted federal surveillance law to permit thousands of low-ranking analysts to eavesdrop on phone calls."

Here is a solution. Those of you who don't care if the NSA listens to your private phone calls or reads your private emails, then sign up on a permission to search form. Don't drag me and others who strongly fight for privacy, freedoms and our rights. Go ahead and allow the government low level employees to spy on you.

Has anybody signed up for the DO NOT CALL lists to stop the telemarketers and robo calls from calling you? I gave the FCC a big list of telephone numbers of the offenders. The FCC told me that there is nothing that they can do. That is BS. I was able to track down the phone numbers as to their origin. Since the FCC refused to do anything even though I gave them a list of the offenders and phone numbers, I decided to reach into my bag of dirty tricks and go to play with the offenders. Guess what. Most of the repeat robo calls and telemarketers stopped calling me. Don't expect the government to help you.

Anything that the low level NSA employees get on you that has nothing to do with terrorism will be forwarded to local, state and federal law enforcement and others. Plan to run for political office against the powers that be? Forget about it. The powers that be will use any information that the NSA collected on you against you in any way that they can.

Pres. Obama on Charlie Rose:

"Well, I think Ben Bernanke's done an outstanding job. Ben Bernanke's a little bit like Bob Mueller, the head of the FBI - where he's already stayed a lot longer than he wanted or he was supposed to."

Nothing like firing the U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman on national TV.

Once again, the Clown-in-Chief proves himself to be more than worthy of his Choom Gang legacy.

"Obama says U.S. EU free trade deal can boost jobs and growth":

What do the Kool-Aid drinking Obamabots have to say to yet ANOTHER free trade agreement?

Pres. Obama has done squat to undo NAFTA - the Obamabots must love it too! :)

"The FBI uses drones in domestic surveillance operations in a 'very, very minimal way,' Director Robert Mueller said."

The govt. only spies on it's citizens for it's own good. Not-to-worry, right Obamabots?

Better hope that an EVIL Repub never again gets in the WH and uses the NSA, IRS, FBI et. al AGAINST lefties eh?

S w Rand 2016

The next POTUS will be a member of the Republican Party. Senator Rand Paul has been selected. I am calling it ahead of time : P

Pres. Obama:

“If towns remain divided—if Catholics have their schools and buildings and Protestants have theirs, if we can’t see ourselves in one another and fear or resentment are allowed to harden—that too encourages division and discourages cooperation,”

Maybe Pres. Obama would like to see Muslim/Christian schools?

The Idiot-in-Chief sounds nutzier every day.

Is he doin' coke again like in his ol' Choom Gang days?

Pres. Obama's DISASTEROUS speech in Berlin:

This guy is a (bleeping) embarrassment for the U.S.

His speech writers piece high sounding words together and the result is nonsense.

The parade of floats in Berlin last year summed up what they think of him .Every one was a mockery !

Darwin's choice

I saw many photo's of the floats! Friends were there and sent them to me! I should have saved the one of Hilary clinging on to Obama's rear!! Classic!

Remember the old commercial, This is your brain, this is your brain on drugs? His brain isn't any different than anyones brain that has been on drugs. Maybe in the future he could do those commercials. If anyone believes like I do and certainly the Medical field that drugs do real damage to the brain please explain why O'Bama's brain isn't severely damaged. Oh, by the way, I learned this from many other sources than Fox News. ABC, CNN, and the others will deny they ran the adds against drugs. I can't recall any of these commercials since O'Bama was elected. Drugs damaged Bush's brain but not O'Bama's, liberals really believe this.

Little wonder that the U.S. has been producing a nation full of mental midgets who trust in those politicos and bureaucrats that they erroneously believe to be wiser and greater than themselves:

"National Council on Teacher Quality survey: Too many teachers, too little quality"

The Big Dog's back

You are so jealous of Obama. A. A.

S w Rand 2016

You are gonna have a conniption fit once you realize that Senator Rand Paul is the next POTUS, aren't you? : P And I cannot even figure out WHY! I guess it will be due to misconceptions.
