The Obama administration has announced that it is canceling tours of the White House because of the sequestration cuts.
This is apparently part of an Obama administration strategy to get his way by making the cuts as painful as possible.
Here is an article in the Washington Times about how it obtained an administration email ordering a bureaucrat to avoid minimizing the impact of the cuts: "You need to make sure you are not contradicting what we said the impact would be."
Here is a blog post, on an air transportation blog, showing how the Obama administration is using the cuts as an excuse to disrupt air travel in the U.S.
And here is a blog post from Reason magazine that explains that federal spending is still going up in 2013, despite the supposedly draconian cuts.
Despite the terrible, awful cuts, the White House has been able to preserve its spending priorities. From the Washington Times story: "The White House had to fend off questions Tuesday about the Homeland Security Department’s decision to sign a $50 million contract for new uniforms for airport screeners, just days before the sequesters."

And on the news a senator spoke up telling Mr. Obzo that he then must curtail his golf outings across the country as well, also noting that the Whitehouse tours are done by an all-volunteer group. It so obvious what he is doing is trying to tick off the general population, trying to blame republicans so he can attempt to win the house and senate over so he can drive in his wish list before he is out of office. He intends to do this by inflicting as much pain as he can on the public, a real nice guy Ha!
Uh...when it comes to ticking off the general population, Republican politicians do just fine all by themselves with that... Intolerance, thy name is GOP.
Make it painful for him!
Rep. Louie Gohmert of Texas has proposed an amendment to cut federal funding for the president's travel to and from the golf course, according to a story in USA Today.
I'm shocked!
SHOCKED I tell ya!
Hard to believe he would do his best to hose the citizens to further his tax & spend liberal agenda!!
As opposed to the Cut Taxes and Spend Irresponsibly Republican agenda during the Bush years, right?
we arent' talking about Bush, try to stay on topic. man you are obsessed with Bush. Obama, he's our president, not Bush......
interesting viewing the other day. prezo has had a portrait painted of all of his admin people that left to a tune of approximately $445,000. wouldn't a digital picture blown up at a local store serve the same service at a huge price reduction? i know, fiscal responsibility should only apply to other people.
SNL had a parody:

ROFLMAO!
If one can call shutting down tours of the whitehouse painful for the public, you better quit watching Faux News. By the way, my neice was a tour guide at the whitehouse before going to Disney. Her annual salary was set at around $31k, not bad for a volunteer. I am in a great mood, my financial portfolio is looking fabulous.

Sequester Fri., Dow hits all time high Tues. Coincidence or correlation?
@ doc5798a
They are SELF GUIDED TOURS. There are no tour guides.
I am by far not an Obama person, (but I will spell his name correctly to show I am not ignorant), but I did find the following article interesting
http://mediamatters.org/mobile/b...
Without a federal budget goin' on for five yrs., it's kinda hard to pin down exactly where and which of those entitlement programs Pres. BHO and the Democrats intend to "cut."
As Alan Combs says: He doesn't want to upset his Progressive base.

It’s easier just to campaign and demagogue without actually providing a plan while going through the motions of being the POTUS.
My goodness doc5798a!
There are so many innuendo and links to support them in the article that I find myself too lazy to commit to the conjecture. Therefore I reject the premise until I investigate it further. Vague attribution and the need to read a book's worth of information to be confidently persuaded is not compelling.
OT/ I often wonder how Mike Royko would have written about these times...
Besides it's MediaMatters...
i find it particularly interesting that obama is all up for cutting the benefits to our hardworking military members and their families but will not touch fed monies that go to states for food cards.
Barry forgot to blame Bush this week.
Dont worry....coasterfan and little puppy already have.
When do you suppose our government will start telling us the truth? We find out some things, but I'd bet there's much more being kept from us. This used to be a great country and is still better than many others, but I'm afraid we're on the way out. If they cut food stamps, there will be rioting in the streets and the military will have more work to do.
I'm shocked I tell ya, shocked that the Register would use the Washington Times as a source. Pitiful.
How about a WP article about Pres. BHO's political game playin' instead Puppy?
http://www.washingtonpost.com/po...
And I'm also invoking Big Dog's Law.
Mooch off others whenever possible?
lmao.
BDL is what Puppy; that you'll eventually show up with some half-witted comment?
Ever heard of Godwin's law? Well Big Dog's Law is when people blame President Obama for anything and everything and discussion becomes moot.
Thanks Puppy, for confirming that BDL is you writing a half-witted comment.
Doesnt Big Dogs law have to do with "If anyone disagrees with my lord and savior B.Obama they are racist and need to die in a drone strike" Still the same old Big dog, Not much for brains but big on his blind ability to follow anything with a D behind its name.
lmao.
I guess that makes Big Dog no different than the majority of Americans. Have YOU voted for any Democrats lately? By the way, we don't consider Obama to be a God, but after cleaning up many of the sins of the previous administration, one can see why you would say that. Personally, I think that Republicans just wish THEY had someone in their party with the ability to inspire anyone besides the 1%... If Mitt Romney is the best you can do, well, that's just embarrassing...
