The good news for residents of Sandusky when it comes to their government: The U.S. Congress is less capable of doing its job than Sandusky city commission is at handling its responsibilities.

But not by much.

As the nation inches toward the fiscal cliff with its potential to dramatically alter the lives of nearly everyone except the super rich, city commission inches toward the end of a horrible first year of the new term.

Petty. Secretive. Angry.

@donuts....you are correct. The entire government is to blame for allowing our country to change from a once hard working population, to a now state of "I want someone else to take care of me because I do not want to work". SAD

Couldn't agree more.

As they say most "Empires" implode due to internal strife, greed, and bloat. Sounds familiar.

dog breath, OK when was the last time the Senate was allowed by King dirty Harry to vote on a budget? Did obbie do anything in Hawaii to solve the problem, working on his golf game does not count......

The Big Dog's back

You might want to check and see if someone blocked it.

goofus

Porch Puppy, in a democratic majority held senate, who would block it????

The Big Dog's back

I'll school you again goof. 1 Senator can block a bill from a vote for any reason.

Dr. Information

Problem is not one democrat nor republican voted to pass Obie's budget. That's how bad it was. This guys no business man. He's a wanna be celeb. Lol

2cents

And here is what Oby has planned for his regime? Happy New Year!

Ms. Cole is mum and unaccounted for (absent) since the second round of Police Chief Committee meetings have met. Why is that? Things are still not right with this committee. She needs to finish what she started. If you are going to stick your neck out, then go all the way but don't get something started and walk away from it because someone tells you not to rock the boat. That is reason enough for rocking the boat even more instead of looking the other way. Who is looking out for the taxpayer if someone doesn't step up to the plate?

<-- sarcasm starts --> Thank God (I mean Obama) I'm po. Nothing better than being adrift in society w/o a financial (cliff) care in the world. Food in belly, roof overhead, clothes on back....oh, and if you cut my stuff (the stuff you said I was entitled to) I won't vote for you and yours next time.
<-- sarcasm ends -->

I think it's an appalling shame we have China, Mexico, Russia, and half of Europe telling us what to do concerning everything from gun control to finances. We'd better get our sh!t together.

FEDERAL:Well a problem that is one of the same it would take 10 million of us to march washington peacefully opt out of the system or demand all the politicians resign and the next in line must swear an oath no money no spending and no debt period.
LOCAL: Much of the same you tax the taxes but realistically the city could cut 40 percent and still function with less intrusion, no local income tax, the people are less than the abuse of the system. FIRE THEM ALL THEN START OVER CUT CUT CUT

Dr. Information

Big dog thinks 16 trillion is ok. Probably thinks 30 trillion is ok. He thinks higher taxes, less jobs, etc is ok. He worked for a union which easily is why he is the way he is. He's a typical liberal left union hugger. Unions are killing this country.....lol....can't argue that. Probably think right to work states are bad too?

You can't spend our way out of this problem and you just can't accept it. Cuts need to be made.

sanduskysteve

OK, but cuts only for the rich are NOT ok. That is all the republicans want. You talk about Obama like robinhood - republicans are exactly the same - only in the opposite direction. Steal from the poor and give to the rich. I really don't care where you draw the line for rich - but many small businesses do not file as individuals - if they do - and have more than a handfull of employees, then they deserve what they get. The benefits right now to being incorporated are great - which is why republicans don't want any of that touched and believe that corporations are human beings. They are legally called entities - not people.
