Change is good

The last paragraph from the Murman report executive summary recommends Kim Nuesse not be reinstated as Sandusky police chief "unless the city is prepared for the wholesale replacement of the command and support staff."

So be it.

You are simply clueless. Who is keeping an eye on you? Nosy, nosy, nosy! yiogt

Anonymous

AGAIN, mind your own business and quit being so nosy. People keep saying that they pay their (city employees)salaries, um, did we forget that they pay taxes too? I have seen MANY, MANY anti- Nuesse people get attacked here for having their opinion but that's ok. I surehope their are some nosy people butting in and keeping an eye on your life too.

What a great piece of editorial "Mumbo-Jumbo" Matt. How long did it take you to come up with this one????

Anonymous

So since you pay taxes and you are entitled to THE WORLD!!! Right? 'Cause you are the ONLY one who pays taxes, is that correct?? I bet you are the only one who is paying $4 a gallon for gas too huh? I know, you should STOP paying your taxes and that would show us all!! Guess what "rr" I pay taxes too, so does every other WORKING adult in this city, but I dont think because I do, that every City Employee owes me something. The city government is not what is destroying this city....look around you.....they can only do so much, eventually people have to take responsibility for their own lives and not just expect that because you pay taxes you have to rely on the government to do everythingn for you...

Anonymous

You people truly are ignorant....and that is being as polite as I can possibly be. I thought we could have an intelligent conversation with adults on this site...but I should have known better.

Get a clue...this is everyone's business who lives in this city, not the employees, but the residents!!

Once again, accountability is the number one thing here and if you don't care how they are spending your money, then go ahead and keep your head in a hole, but there are a lot of us who do care and just because I am not afraid to say something you think you can attack me personally for an opinion...that's good.

I don't rely on any government to take care of me and mine...I do that just fine on my own, thank you. I have people to answer to in my job, just as those in the city need to answer to their "employers". Evidently they/you feel they are not to be questioned.

Nosy; nosy about what? About what our city leaders are having the employees doing...we should have more concerned citizens like all of you...no wonder this city has been in so much distress, that's the mentality behind it.

What's the old saying, those that protest too much...

I am done with all of you clueless, defensive babies...maybe this should have gone on the readers forum in the paper were everyone could read it, then let's just see how many more people have the same opinion.

Anonymous

You say that you have someone to answer to on your job? You say the city employees feel they are not to be questioned? Isn't that part of the problem here with Nuesse? But all of the followers say she is being picked on, now which way is it? Can't be both ways can it? Well, what is your answer to that one?

Anonymous

Hey Matt maybe you can learn a thing or two from Tom Jackson he seems to have an open mind and questions lies told by Frankowski and Nuesse, now HE is a real journalist not the JOKE that you are!!

Anonymous

Why do you name call?? If someone doesnt agree with your views doesnt make them ignorant. Most people's posts on here are well thought out, well except Matt Westerhold's, so easy on the name calling, how adult is that??

Anonymous

Why did you move Tom Jackson's great post about "the ticket". You moved the June 5th story out and replaced it with the June 4th one. Just because he
pointed out the truth? Put it back where it belongs and readers don't have to search for it!

Westerhold and Nuesse take a hike.

I love Matt, he just needs to find new friends is all!

Ummm, she is FAT and haggered! She needs to perhaps be a spokes person for Jenny Craig! Although think about it. She now has sat on her big butt eating 20k worth of food ast our expense! She has proved she has a big mouth and is unedcated! Just listen to her!

Anonymous

No...uneducated people resort to name calling, such as "fat haggered (correctly spelled haggard), big butt and loud mouth". And do you know why they resort to such childih indulgences? Because they lack sufficient vocabulary skills to do otherwise. They are unable to speak without using such simplistic barbs so they are therefore unable to write any better either.

While Kim may indeed be run-down and careworn from her dealings with the city in recent past,it is MK, DI and the commission who has forced her to do so "ast" our expense. I have heard of completely ligitimate and accurate investigations being completed while working the employee in a limited capacity. I believe the Chief could have been collared rather than caged while this travesty played itself out.

Anonymous

missed an "s"... that's childish. Since I have the nerve to ask for intelligence I ought to employ it. My apologies.

Anonymous

Stahl is flying the flag at half mast....for HIMSELF!!

Anonymous

That is correct! Get Nuesse and Westerhold OUT OF TOWN!

Great pictures Jason! I will check this out at ten! Thanks!

Common Sense

Matt,

As the editor of this newspaper and this blog, it would be expected that you would check your blog for spelling and grammatical errors. Having said that, please refer to http://www.comfit.com/grammar/ to clean up the sentence "...with statements that are less THEN forthright". THEN is an indication of sequence while THAN is a comparison of two items. While you are at it, pass this llink on to your proofreaders.

Anonymous

I commented yesterday on the use of THEN (refers to sequence) and THAN (refers to a coparison) and even suggested you share a grammar website with your proofreaders. I see my comment was deleted. Reason? I have no idea. If you were offended by the comment, then clean up your work.

Also, why is the same blog ran two days in a row? There is certainly enough material on this site to do a topic a day.

Crackhead

of all the topics and all that is said about the register and it's staff, this is what you choose to answer? some limited influence? wow...

Common Sense

Matt,

Some habits die hard. As a former language arts instructor who insisted that students publish near-perfect pieces, it is difficult for me not to find the errors that appear daily in our local newspaper and definitely in the blogs.

When the blogs first started out, several people would point out the errors, stating that it reflected poorly on the Sandusky area to others who were viewing. Unfortunately, these posters were reprimanded by the angry posters.

Maybe, this would be a great topic for a Sunday editorial. How important is it for our local newspaper to hold itself to the higher standard of spelling and grammar practices? Possibly, you could make it a question of the week for the survey.

Finally, in response to your question, if you are asking me if I would like a position on the newspaper ("wanna" is "want to", I'm assuming), the answer would be I would consider it.

Matt, you're such a stud! Woooohoooooo!

You look like the bad EPA guy from ghostbusters.

Mr White:

I acknowledge your education at Columbia University, arguably one of the finest if not the finest journalism school in the world. My first question to you is two fold: Why has the Sandusky Register chosen to invert the standard protections of libel and privacy rights of private citizens versus public officials or public figure? Following on that..Why is your story selection geared to providing opportunities to anonymous people to hurt private individuals (e.g. fatal auto accidents, deaths of children)

Also following on the above, why are factual comments critical of public officials deleted while the newspaper through its censorship and non reporting appears to continue to applaud the return of criminal libel to silence critics of the government. Would you agree that in view of the above, people do have legitimate criticism of the newspaper for appearing to abandon its role as watchdog on government?

just me

There are often a LOT of erros and typos in the Register - online and in print. But no one is perfect.

just me

See there. I said erros instead of errors. Made my own point. Go me.

My wish for the website is that she would just shut up. Can you make that happen? She has to puke that garbage everywhere and it is the same old same old over and over. God help us, give it a rest.

just me

I wish the paper would follow up more on it's stories. Like the auto accident that I am sure EB is referring to. You spill all the details about the accident but never follow up. How are the kids? Were there are charges filed? Are they still in the hospital?

Not just this particular accident, but I notice this paper does that a lot. Reports the first day or so but then we never hear another word....or updates - good or bad.

Mr. White:

As I was saying, why do you allow personal attacks on private citizens by anonymous posters?
