For Baxter, truth is inconvenient

Matt Westerhold
Mar 23, 2010

Good Old Kevin Baxter can sure spin things away from truth whenever he wants, and a recent letter to the editor is a perfect example. Old Kevin made serious objection to a recent Register editorial critical of his office for issuing a flawed warrant that delayed the arrest of a child rapist.

The man was arrested "just 37 days" after an indictment was returned by a grand jury, Baxter says. I don't know about you, but even 37 days is too long for a child rapist to be free and on the loose. The man was accused in August 2006 and arrested by U.S. Marshals in late December that same year, so the actual delays were much longer than Baxter's spin. And local officials never lifted a finger to make an arrest after the flawed warrant was finally issued.

Baxter ignored repeated requests for documentation on the case and, when questioned directly about it on two seperate occasions, he stared back with a glassy-eyed look and feigned ignorance on the entire topic. How convenient. Play dumb when it serves you, Kevin, and then be filled with righteous indignation when you get called on your shortcomings.

Baxter also ignored written requests for the information, and for information on other flawed warrants that might have resulted in at least one other child rapist getting a free pass in Erie County. There are plenty of examples, but Baxter's abnormal need for secrecy keeps most under the radar.

And Baxter is quick to dump on his best buds whenever he gets put on the hot seat, including pointing the finger at the sheriff or deputies, or old best old bud county commissioner Tom Ferrell Jr. Kevin also will blame city officials for their shortcomings if that helps Kevin's cause. Kevin covers Kevin's butt -- and every other good old boy's behind -- as long as it serves Kevin.

It's time to cut the crap. You cannot fix a problem if you deny it exists, and when the sheriff's office has more than 800 outstanding warrants -- with serious felony crimes getting lost in bureaucracy -- there must be something wrong with the system.

If anyone is misrepresenting the facts, Kevin, it's you.

Did you ever stop to think that maybe that was the ONLY way, through the SR, for Kevin to be able to let people know the T-R-U-T-H since the SR and Matt have trouble with that when it comes to the city officials? BTW, before you even go there, I am just a regular 'ol citizen of Sandusky.

Until Westerhold is gone!

T-R-U-T-H ? ROTFLMAO, Why doesn't Baxter just call in the Ohio Attorney General or invite the FBI to investigate? Then maybe I will believe Baxter.

Anonymous

Why? I canceled the Register a few months ago because I was P*ssed Off at Matt for printing that CCW list. But I have started up the paper again because, for a change, the Register is beginning to print the truth.

You are a true idiot! Goes to show what kind of retards work for the Sandsuky Newspaper..... No wonder so many people have cancelled their subscription to that ill-repute newspaper. You and all of the other idiots you work with are worthless!

Kevin Baxter and his staff of prosecutors can take as much credit as they wish concerning the Thomas Mc'Govern case. They need to step up to the plate and start working on the rest that have occurred as well. As far as I am concerned, the only Angel from Heaven that I can see so far is Matt Westerhold. He has not backed down and I admire him for his tenacity where the search for the truth about corrupt activities are concerned. Someday it will all be out in the open and the non-believers in this area might change their tune. This isn't a situation where false tales or rumors are made, moreover, this is clearly one of the final steps toward finding out what is really happening in Erie County.

I don't know why Mr. Baxter thinks the only sympathizer of Elsebeth Baumgartner is Mr. Westerhold. Just reading how she was treated by that horrid judge in Cuyahoga county infuruiated me to no end. And then that pompous retired judge---who I'm sure is corrupt as all get out---putting on that insidious show how he was so "offended" by her actions----Yuck! They all make me sick and so does Erie County. I'm ashamed to even admit I'm part of this community anymore.

can't we, can't we, can't we all sing along?

A man stabs two men and gets 8 years. He is charged with two counts of felonious assault. Why wasn't he charged with attempted murder?

Baumgartner gets 8 years from a black judge in Cuyahoga County because some sensitive old judge could not take criticism. Poor baby judge, his feelings got hurt.

That black Cuyahoga judge, Judge Shirley Strickland Saffold, helps a young black man, who violates his probation several times. This black man, Raymond Williams, only got PROBATION for manslaughter. Williams was originally charged with MURDER. And when Williams violated his probation several times, Saffold helps him out instead of revoking his probation.
8 years for Baumgartner for criticizing a judge but PROBATION for a MURDERER. And that MURDERER violated his probation not once but several times. That same judge makes conditions that Baumgartner cannot file any lawsuits in Federal Court to seek justice from a CORRUPT and RACIST judge. Why didn't Saffold revoke the probation violations of Williams? Instead, Saffold protected the murderer. Read some of the comments that were posted in the below link.

This same black judge also wanted to run for the Ohio Supreme Court. You have to be kidding me. This same judge tells a 19 year old girl who was charged with theft of a credit card to pick up some men by wearing a short skirt and sit on a bench.

http://kingsrightsite.blogspot.c...

"Men are easy," Cuyahoga County (Ohio) Common Pleas Judge Shirley Strickland Saffold told the defendant Katie Nemeth. "You can go sit in the bus stop, put on a short skirt, cross your legs and pick up 25. Ten of them will give you their money."

The judge continued, "If you don't pick up the first 10, then all you got to do is open your legs a little bit and cross them at the bottom, and then they'll stop."

This judge is a typical Cuyahoga County judge. Gives probation to murderers, refuses to revoke the probation when the murderers violate their probation but sends a woman to prison for 8 years because the woman sought relief from a Federal court. Excuse me, but isn't it the right of all Americans to seek relief at the Federal Court levels when biased judges have wrongly convicted people?

I heard from a very reliable source who was actually at the sentencing of Baumgartner that Saffold gave the prosecutor Dan Kasaris, a friend of Kevin Baxter, all the time that he needed to send Baumgartner to prison. But when Baumgartner's attorney tried to explain to Saffold why the Federal lawsuit was filed, Safford quickly silenced the attorney and ordered handcuffs put on Baumgartner and had her lead away to prison. Excuse me, but isn't a judge supposed to hear BOTH SIDES? Why didn't Saffold want to hear the defense? What a corrupt, stupid, incompetent, BIASED and racist judge that Saffold is.

Are these the type of judges from Cuyahoga County that Kevin Baxter seems to favor? Does Kevin Baxter like judges who refuse to hear BOTH sides? Why didn't Saffold want to hear the defense from Baumgartner's attorney? Because Saffold had already determined the outcome before Baumgartner even went to court. Kevin Baxter likes judges that make their own laws as they see fit instead of following the laws.

OMG WE HAVE TO GET ALL THIS TO SOMEBODY!

Can anyone tell me what a RETIRED Judge is doing in a court house as anything other then a lawyer? Doesn't it mean he isn't allowed to rule on cases anymore?

Anonymous

When is Baxter and his company going to pay the back taxes to the schools?

Is it not an ethical problem when an elected official owes back taxes?

Anonymous

Yes to the tune of $179,000

Anonymous

Isn't that tax evasion?

Anonymous

If you think that judge in Cuyahoga county is horrid (she is) better hope you never have to deal with her twin sister at the Erie County Common Pleas Court Probate Division.

Anonymous

Wow! If I owed back taxes I'd be living on the street. Guess it pays to be a prosecutor.

Everyone hates lawyers...

Until they need one!

it pays to be incorporated. The business owes the taxes not KBax. It's the American way. That's why you incorporate. Smart for the business bad for the area.

Murray & Murray bilk people out of $20,000.00 runs them out of money and does not represent them at the final Probate hearing. Judge Tygh Tone refuses to allow the people to present the evidence they have. (FIXED CASE) Judge Tygh Tone is going to rule on Ejay's motion to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Kevin for PROBATE FRAUD. Ejay doesn't stand a chance. The case is already FIXED.

Anonymous

You say everyone hates lawyers until they need one....My reply---if it wasn't for crook lawyers nobody would need one.

Anonymous

NUESSE'S CASE IS ALREADY FIXED TOO....I HOPE THE RETIRED JUDGE & THE CUYAHOGA COUNTY LAW FIRM THANK THE TAXPAYERS ON THEIR WAY OUT OF TOWN....

Anonymous

That no-class Cuyahoga County Judge Saffold should be strung up by her heels and horsewhipped along with the rest of them.

When is everyone who has a grievance in this county finally say enough is enough! It takes a problem in numbers to create a change in the way that the system is running. Why doesn't the community challenge Mr. Baxter to attend a public forum in Sandusky so that he can personally answer the questions that have gone unanswered for so long. If he is willing to attend a meeting with the public, then he is making the first step toward clearing himself from much of the speculations that are surfacing about him.

The owners/op. of this business owe back taxes, to the tune of what, just about 200K! What a lack of professionalism and responsiblity on the part of these particular (past) business owners! How much was given to this corporation from Federal Grants?!

Anonymous

DON'T LET THE LEGAL SYSTEM FOOL YOU, PEOPLE. ANY BIASED AND UNFAIR RULING BY A JUDGE WHO DOES NOT HEAR BOTH SIDES OF A CASE IS AN INVALID RULING. THESE JUDGES ARE NO MORE ABOVE THE LAW THEN LAWYERS ARE BUT THEY HAVE BEEN GIVEN AN UNFAIR ADVANTAGE. THERE'S PEOPLE HIGHER UP THAT ARE INVOLVED IN THIS CORRUPTION.

Anonymous

not true. When you incorporate a business individuals are not responsible. The Corporation is a legal entity unto itself. If the corporation has no assets (building, cash, trucks, boats etc.) there is nothing to collect on. I don't remember any federal grants...it failed on its own.

Anonymous

What business are you talking about? If you are referring to Baxter's personal venture in Vermilion you are wrong about the federal grants. Didn't EB accuse the Lorain County law firm of Baumgartner & O'Toole of falsyfing grants to get the loans?

Anonymous

I thought I heard something about Senator Stevens of Alaska (you know the guy who is being investigated) helping the Island Express secure a grant a while back. Does anyone know anything about that?

Anonymous

Due to the mistrust in Our County Prosecutor, I think it's time the County Commissioners call for a thorough investigation to be made by The Ohio State Attorney General. The good old boys network which includes a number of judges and law firms in Erie County has long been known by lawyers outside the county to be corrupt. We have a mess and it needs to be cleaned up, and now !!!!

Anonymous

don't run the Prosecutor's office. It's an elected postion. Attorney General could investigate it but don't hold your breath on that one. You guys have more conspiracy theories than the X files. Man what a bunch of wackos you are.
