Waddington: The man who should be mayor

I always thought voters decided who got the city’s ex-officio mayor’s post -- by ballot -- and the prize went to the top votegetter.

Commissioner Dave Waddington was the candidate who got the most votes when he was re-elected in 2007. A tally of more than 500 votes above the candidate with the next highest vote total.

But Waddington didn’t get the nod from his fellow commissioners back then. Here’s hoping he gets it this time when Dennis Murray Jr. resigns commission if he’s elected state representative.

Sure. Sure. Commissioner Craig “Barney” Stahl wants it so bad he’s already smooching it up with anyone who’ll listen. But Craig’s leadership in the No. 2 spot this year has been lacking, stubborn and foolishly wasteful of tax dollars.

Waddington will have to step aside at the end of his current four-year term due to term limits. His last two years on the Sandusky City Commission should be as mayor.

Why don't YOU run for commission, mouth. I happen to agree with most of what Mr. Schwanger has to say. Especially concerning this Marina District fiasco. Are you really "Sarah" or one of the loser commissioners? A wife of a commissioner maybe?

Is your last name Palin? Neither of you let the lack of information get in the way of shooting off your mouth. At least when the real Sarah spent $23 million for that rec center, it benefitted everyone in the community--not just the rich. You could use all the lipstick in Alaska, but you'd still be a pit bull...and we all know the proper term for a female dog, of any breed. Gotcha!

Dave gets involved and tries to help others in need.

Ok, let's see, what have you done to help and aid this community lately. Silence. Waddingto has done more for this community then you have done in your lifetime. Please fill us in on your contributions.

I agree with you 100%. When the Sandusky Now ignorants placed this Sarah's blinders on they must have pulled the strings to tight and cut off the blood flow to this persons brain.

SMOOCHY for assistant dog catcher!

It would not be surprising to learn that Sarah is indeed a city commissioner or a wannabe, both perhaps being the same!

Tim S. has done more to bring the city's residents up to speed on the problems facing the residents than any of the current city commissioners who do not have any original thoughts or ideas about how to bring real lasting jobs to the city.

This whole MD condo deal is a big mess that takes away public land and gives preferential treatment to the only developer who offered a proposal....some testimony to poor planning on the part of the current city commissioners.

Let's dump this MD proposal and start over again with a real economic development plan that focuses on jobs and not more empty over-priced condos.

If there is any development of the waterfront it should not be at the expense of public access to the waterfront or existing public land.

The casino issue is expected to fail and Murray will not become the next state representative and that means the MD project will be dead given the additional financial burden of risks for the city.

I support Waddington, he will work great with David Brenner!

As well, NO vote for any sitting Commissioners here, city or county! Those who sit back, remaining SILENT & COMPLACENT, are just as bad!

seems that he is everywhere but who is the real Waddington and where does he get all his expertise; seems like there are some missing links in his background
