Getting ready for the 5k

Intense, focused, motivating force. My personal trainer Ken Cutcher of Anytime Fitness in Perkins Township is all of those things. I can get pretty whiny and he just blows it off. I love that about him. I really appreciate the fact that he just keeps pushing me, even though I'm pouting or whining. I need that.
The scale is not showing a difference in weight at this point and that is very unnerving to me. This past week, I took a look at my food journal to see what I could change in my eating habits. I have started to apply the changes this week. I do, however, see a difference in how my clothes look and fit when they are on and I have to say I'm impressed by some of the changes.
I'm still learning to jog so I will be ready July 11 for the 5k. I will be there with bells on as long as I can get off work. If I have to work that day, at least I can say I now can jog. My workouts are going great, and I'm actually starting to like exercising again. I hope soon I can say I love it.

Remember, Kristin, that muscle weighs more than fat so you may not see much of a difference on the scale but your shape will change.  Good luck!

I think you are doing a fantastic job!  I understand the desire to lose weight. Motivation is the hardest part for me. I think that taking your siblings in is gracious and brave! My parents hung around with your grandparents, Karin and Alfred, so I knew your dad when he was a kid! (Kind of bratty, you know!) I was saddened to find out what he has done to himself and everyone that loves him! Any way, I just wanted to let you know that I am rooting for your success, and that I hope you find happiness within yourself in your new body and mind!  You are a beautiful young woman, no matter how much you weigh!

Sounds like Ken is working out for you!!! That is great, I knew he would be a good motivator !!!  I wouldn't worry about the scale.  Keep you going on how your cloths fit.  When I started exercising, I shunned the scale and just kept trying on a pair of pants I wanted to fit into.  Find a peice of clothing that you especially want to wear and try it on periodically.   Keep up the good work!!!
