The 411 On McClung

Here's what's circling town on the McClung indictment:

The prosecution is an age-old vendetta carried out against an outspoken member of the law enforcement community.  McClung may not have dotted his I's and crossed his T's on the money transactions but the word around town is that the allegations are trumped up.

A couple of clues in yellow:

1.  Any time a federal prosecutor has to remind you that an offense is "serious" you should be skeptical.

2.  The feds were looking for a way to make a case against McClung because he never used federal money in any of the alleged transactions.

So, who knows.  Maybe it's all trumped up nonsense. Let's wait and see.

Karl Hungus-Mr....

are you being serious?

Yes.  Too many respected people say it stinks.  Let's wait and see...

I'll have to admit up front that I am not a McClung fan.  However, I am open minded if there is good evidence to the contrary.

With that said, can you name some of these respected people and / or what exactly they say that leads them to believe that these federal charges stink?  Are you sure these are "Respected People," and not just buddies of McClung?
