"Sundays are my hardest days."

Jan. 19: Back to the grind today. Did well on the diet with shakes, bar, fruit and balanced dinner. Four swim meets this week so it will be tough to get the workouts in, but we are scheduled for Wednesday and Friday night. I am starting to feel some difference in the fit of my work clothes and hope to soon go down another notch on the belt. Several people at church noticed that I had lost. That was a good feeling.

Jan. 20: - Good Day today with the eating - never really felt hungry - busy all day so that helped.

Jan. 21: Eating was tough today because work was very busy - lots of time on the phone and following up with past customers. Workout was good tonight, although Trevor and I both agree that we need to try to get more of them in early in the morning. Right now with his schedule and my meet schedule it is hard. I have increased repetitions and weight on most exercises with increased reps on all of the core work. It has been hard, but an enjoyable hard. As I have said before, I thoroughly enjoy the workouts with the eating continuing to be the hard part.

Jan. 22: Eating was better today because I did a better job of planning ahead on what and when I was eating and drinking. It is still hard for me to drink plain water, but it is becoming more tolerable, especially if it is cold and I drink it quickly. I have also found that it takes less to fill me up than it used to.

Jan. 23 - Friday eating was tough because I didn't plan as well and work was very busy. I don't know if it was the workout or the fact that I didn't eat often enough, but I was so tired that when I got home I ate a couple of oranges. They were easy to fix, and I fell asleep in my chair. It was a very exciting evening for my wife.

Jan. 24: Saturday we had our annual kick-off for work. Everyone from all the dealerships gathers for a sort of "state of the union" message from our owner, presentation of awards and cash to the sales winners for the year - not me - and a variety of contests with cash prizes. A very nice spread of food and drink is provided, and we have a putting contest, corn hole tournaments (got second) guess how much cash is in the fishbowl. I was "very good" and only had a couple of Diet Cokes and one chicken wing. We were there about three hours and had a great time - don't know too many other businesses that would do something like that on a Saturday morning! Got to the gym that afternoon and went on the bike for 30 minutes and had a good sweat. We went to the movies that night and I was able to stay away from the popcorn. I did break down and have a couple of pieces of pizza - it was good.

Jan. 25: Sundays seem to be my toughest days so far. We went to church and I was very hungry. When we got home I had a piece of peanut butter toast and an orange. Later in the day, we went to Sandusky to do some shopping and then we went to Panera and I had chicken noodle soup and half of a roast beef sandwich and took a bagel home to eat later. Too many carbs today, but I am still eating less than I have in years. Gained that belt notch today and am close to 25 pounds lost and I know I have lost more inches. Will be anxious to measure and weigh in the end of this week to see the total progress for the month. I am sort of hoping to break the 300 pound barrier very soon! I will keep you posted.

If I looked like that picture, I would stop wearing contacts. Who wears contacts with an allergy? It must be embarrassing to look like you have been on a binge all night and not fit for work. I would wear glasses and look like you are at least sharp to perform your duties. If Baxter lies, he could get disbarred.

Sam

FOX News would not hire Westerhold to sweep the floors.

Go on you tube and watch the westerhold video. It is hilarious. just bring up you tube and search for westerhold. I would put on the link, but westerhold keeps deleting it.

For the sake of Charity, he would organize a couple grudge matches where he gets in the ring and goes a few rounds with Phil Frost and/or Kevin Baxter. I am sure that Kevin and Phil would do it, but I am pretty sure that Matt would be to much of a ??? (rhymes with Nuesse)to do it. Come on Matt, call Kevin and Phil and set it up. If they turn you down, let us know in another one of your mindless editorials. Show us you have a pair.

I would love to see that broadcast live on the web. Please Matt do us all a solid. Ill even train you!

'Mindless Drones' is NOT a member of the SPD. It's '007', i.e. Bob the Tiara owner, i.e. the greatest local living example of what too much alcohol can do to an already meager intellect.

Anonymous

That was funny....

WHAT????
Where in the heck did you come up with that mess?

Anonymous

Thanx! That video was the best.

SPD should HOPE Nuesse will be found terminated for just cause. If she wins, she will not return to the job and probably resign with a settlement. My concern is: Those officers that decided to testify against her and are proven to be untruthful are NOT covered under qualified immunity. They can be made susceptible, individually, to defamation or character assassination civil lawsuits. If she is found terminated with just cause then it should be over. If not, everyone can be named which will require more legal mediation and more monetary expense. The press will be exempt.

Anonymous

Defamation and character assassination???? Westerhold and bloggers have done worse than that to city leaders and SPD. Maybe they can go after Nuesse and Westerhold for starting (and continuing) this mess! They defintely made it worse with half truths printed. Gesh, defamation or character assassination....THE NERVE.

Again, I for one, am VERY thankful for our officers.

Taxpayer

So you think there is NO WAY Nuesse or Bailey can drag SPD officals into another civil trial personally? You must be delusional. Come on! They training you receive as a LE officer should tell you ANYONE can be brought to public trial for ANYTHING. LE is made exempt by qualified immunity for arrests as long as NO civil rights were violated. They are NOT exempt from PERSONAL civil suits, frivolous or not.

Anonymous

While you are correct, a reverse suit can also be filed.

Anonymous

And I hope there will be.

BTW, tell me, why is it that when a citizen of Sandusky makes a comment and doesn't agree with Westerhold, Nuesse or their supporters, they automatically say they are a police officer? I am not even CLOSE to being an officer or a family member for that matter. I do not care for the way the SR and Westerhold are treating our city, city leaders, or our officers. Is that a sin?

Anonymous

Dude - you're wrong if you think this hearing is the end of Nuesse's line.

Regardless of the outcome of this kangaroo court, she still has a pretty compelling claim of gender discrimination and retaliation. Somehow I don't think a federal jury will be none-to-impressed with the Murman report and the parade of half-wits and half-truths that seem to be all the City has against her. And those sued can be both the City (under Title VII) and certain high-ranking officials (under 42 USC 1983 and 1981). Qualified immunity won't apply to discrimination and/or retaliation - or conspiracy to commit both.

So yea...absent a settlement, this is a legal battle that can last long long after this silly hearing is over.

Let Donnie Iscman interpret that however he wants - but if I'm a taxpayer, I don't need a crystal ball to see that this was one expensive episode of the GOB's club - one that the insurance company is not going to keep paying to defend.

Talk is cheap. The threat of a lawsuit does worry anyone who told the truth. Keep spewing because they are not worried one bit.

Taxpayer

I do NOT want anyone to sue SPD officers personally. But, it is a possibility. A civil suit involving USC 1983 will NOT be heard in Erie County. The 6th District is held in Toledo and jurors will be selected from the eight counties. Not from Sandusky. It is just a possibility. I want this hearing to be over with so SPD can get back to:1. Selecting a qualified and full time chief of police. 2. Begin serving the residents of the city like they are supposed to without distraction. 3. Be able to patrol the city without being accused of harassment. 4. And addressing crime issues. The command structure is currently weak as there are no captains. Most of the officers and detectives want stability and be allowed to do their jobs. It is as simple as that.

Anonymous

While SPD wants this mess over also, everything is running smoothly right now. If you talked with the officers, you would know that. The department is moving forward and will continue to do so until a new chief is put in place.

Lyons- single
Baxter - double
Barylski - triple
Kline - home run

Hearings over, city wins!!!!!!

One doesn't normally put their best hitters at the end of a line up. Same principles rule in trial work. You may be right that these witnesses will do better than the goof ball police officials who started off - oh yeah, and the illustrious Mr. Murman and his report - but I hardly think there will be any contact with the ball, much less a base hit from any.

Sorry to inform you, that was written by me not Westerhold. While he is better educated than me, and apparently, a bit smarter, I am better looking. If you actually saw us, or knew us, you could tell the difference.

@ TO YES

There is a new "just in" story that you are missing. Just thought I would let you know since you are on a roll.

Anonymous

Matt

your last 8 blogs have been on Nuesse!!!

Is there any thing going on that is good in sandusky that you can report on?????

Just wandering

Really

Does the SR realize that this is a non-story any more? This story has been on here and only 87 comments in 8 days. No one cares any more. Move on, we have other news stories that need covered.

All I want for Christmas is no more Nuesse stories!

Anonymous

Matt-

CM Kline says that Nuesse was told by you that the city commissioners were out to get her. You said you knew of no such plot by the city commissioners, yet you have consistently lead the readers of the Register to believe just that!!

So what are you going to do now? As I see it if you admit that you lied then, you lose what very little credibility you have left. On the other hand if you say that Nuesse lied then you look like a reporter that is not interested in getting the facts and still lose creditability for blindly backing her; at the same time you would then be forced dump your support for Nuesse just to save your own neck!!! Or I guess you could just say the Kline lied under oath!! I wonder which one you will pick!!!!

Does someone else have the same notion as I, but it looks like Kevin is a drunk. He has the same coloring that someone does who has a long history of hitting the bottle. What do you think?
