New goal: 40 more pounds by end of May

Another uneventful week, except that eating in the evening is very tough for some reason. I am doing very well during the day when I am occupied and do not have easy access to food.

The workouts went well last week. On March 4, FIT Editor Brandi Barhite and photographer, Luke Wark, followed me through my workout and got to see a representative sample of what I have been doing. It took about 80 minutes for me to finish and I was tired at the end. I am anxious to see some of the pictures. Trevor Tieche of Bodi N Balance has said that my appearance changes quite a bit during my workouts. He told Brandi if she wanted good pictures to get them early in the workout. I know that some were taken late in the workout, so I hope you get to see those, too.

My strength has increased quite a bit overall and I really enjoy the working out. I wish I enjoyed the healthy eating part as much. I see that Toledo Blade is also highlighting some participants in a weight-loss contest.

The next three months will be important to my overall goal and objectives. I am being inducted into the Port Clinton High School Athletic Hall of Fame at the end of May, and I want to be able to get some new, and much smaller, clothes for that event. My goal is to lose another 30 to 40 pounds by the end of May. Wish me luck and keep those positive comments and support coming in.  I appreciate them and so does Kristin.

Ken,
I know it is a lot of hard work, but you are doing great! Keep up the great weight loss!

Duh. Thanks for the newsflash, Captain Obvious! I think we all learned that stuff in 3rd grade health class.

how many people actually are healthy like this tho?

Michelle
Thanks for the reminder. When it happens to you it's a little unsettling and it's wise to remember to eat and drink wisely this time of year especially. People can poke fun but it's not a laughing matter.

DUH

Tell us something we don't know. Sheeeesh

Its almost as important as VAPOR LOCK!

Actually, Gatorade should only be used sparingly. Water should be your first item you grab, and if you are thirsty, you are dehydrated! Check your pee.

I know the whole "blog" thing caught on late with the Sandusky Register but it's annoying to see that the so-called bloggers don't even know what they're writing. This page is called a "blog" (short for 'web log') The individual articles are referred to as "entries," or "posts" not separate 'blogs.'

Do we really want to discuss how many people use common sense? Hmmmm....it's summer, it's hot outside, make sure you drink water. I'm so glad this information was made available to us all, I would have never thought of that. Maybe the next entry should be about brushing your teeth (or tooth for most of the people around here) at least twice a day when Michelle finds out she gets a cavity and has to go through the horrible ordeal of getting a cavity filled.

Anonymous

did you know that using common sense is needed when working outside? It also helps if you eat breakfast.

Anonymous

I didn't know you were supposed to drink lots of water when you are outside and it is hot. Thankee, thankee, thankee.

Not everyone is as smart at making obvious choices as all of the comment posters on SR. Many people DO choose soda over water. Many people drink nothing but carbonated drinks and also let their kids drink it all day long. Why do you think Americans are so overweight? It's because they reach for pop and sweets over water and healthy, nutritious meals.
So maybe many people DO need to be reminded once in a while. No harm in that.

your normal stance would be stick to texting and myspace, if you cannot come up with something a little more creative, why bother. Besides that, anyone that disagrees with anything you COPY out of a song or a health book gets deleted anyway, but since you have family members constantly monitor your blog and report abuse you continue to write your remedial WORKS OF OTHERS. Try coming up with something on your own, then you might get some positive responces.

And interesting a Health Minute Piece on CNN recently.....

Anonymous

No, I suppose there's no harm in assuming all of the readers of the SR are morons and don't know that they need water and food for survival. It just means there's no harm and no interesting, thought-provoking, news-worthy things to read either. NEWSFLASH guys..... Be sure to wipe your back side, I had a horrible experience the other day when I had a brown mark. "It's really important everyone tries to keep healthy, clean, and non-stinky especially in the summer, when temperatures can reach the 90's on a daily basis." Those fly bites are the absolute worst.

Is it true that if you don't wash your hair, it will be dirty? Maybe that could be the next "blog"

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Heard the same exact info on Weather Channel, CNN, and Channel 13 news--but thanks anyway.

Anonymous

Wow! The SR is really sensitive regarding a friendly reminder to be sure to wipe, since it's so hot out and all. Who knew that would've been sensored?

How about letting everyone know how many teen pregnancies are up & coming at the high school & if they can bring their infants to school with them dressed in tan & blue diapers (same colors as mom's uniform) and dump 'em off at the daycare center all day?
Or how about some investigative reporting about school uniform prices for new kids? Something other than obveous things

wow! I guess you can't say anything negative about this "writer" or this paper. What country are we in?????? Both of the above are jokes. Let's see if this stays online for more than 10 minutes.

YOU PEOPLE WOULD GRIPE AND COMPLAIN IF YOUR ICE CREAM WAS COLD

Hopefully this works out. Meigs St. is a dump. Thanks for writing about something other than Neusse.

Well, Matt, we elect our commissioners to make decisions. I don't think its realistic to have the entire city vote on every major decision.

Also, we did approve the concept of moving city hall when we voted in favor of the Marina District project.

I think it seems like a good location. It should give the downtown a boost with more traffic, people looking for lunch or breakfast, folks passing by store window displays, etc.

Forge on, proud city on the bay !

It's not realistic to have the entire city vote on every major decision? Your right there----they didn't get to vote on the expensive Murman Report, the firing of Kim Nuesse, the expensive retired judge etc etc. As for this article---it's about as interesting as the rides at Cedar Point.

The part I don't like about this whole deal is that it is being done behind closed doors and until the agreement is signed, nothing will be made public until ground is dug and you actually see something going up. I think the commission has a lot of nerve doing all this behind closed doors. Talk about being secretive and all seven commissioners are guilty as charged for allowing it to stay secret. If it were not for the newspaper, none of us would know what is going on in our own town. If you have to make deals behind closed doors there is something not right. Where is all the money coming from?

observer

Sorry Matt, I agree with you 100% on Nuesse but disagree 100% on this move. The city should spend 1 million on city hall improvements, merge police stations with perkins or the sheriff, put the muni-court into the county building. Let's start holding our elected officials accountable for our tax dollars. Murray want's his name on a building before he leaves for columbus! We will be paying for decades.

Anonymous

why don't you go have yourself a nice enema?

Anonymous

Sandusky Muni Court has always been with the police department. To the benefit of both organizations. How much will it cost the City to supply the extra security now that they no longer share the same building.
