Putting off meal preparation is sabotaging progress

Ken Gipe
Mar 23, 2010

The week of March 8 was a great workout week and only a so-so diet week. The workouts with Trevor were some of my best since we began. I completed three workouts, each about 90 minutes. I am beginning to feel a little quicker in my agility drills and much stronger with the weights.

I am a little depressed about my ability to eat as often as I am supposed to because I have not done a good job of planning ahead. I have always been a procrastinator and this personality trait is not helping me to achieve maximum benefit. I am great at hitting deadlines, but I usually have crammed everything in at the last minute, and with this program I must do better at planning.

It is amazing how your personality has so much affect on everything you do or try to do. Not only am I fighting the weight battle, I am trying to change one of my basic personality traits. This is actually proving to be more difficult than I thought. If this was coming as easily as my progress with the training aspect of the diet, I would be much further ahead. If anyone has any ideas for helping me to overcome my procrastination as far as the  meal planning is concerned, please let me know.

I got all three of my workouts in the morning last week and that was much better. I had good energy throughout the day and was able to get to sleep easier at night.

I am not writing to blog on this story, I just have something to say. Can you please find something interesting to write about so I can blog. There has not been an interesting thing in weeks. I am fed up with the Nuesse saga. I don't know who is right, and I am just going to wait and see. Nothing I can do about it anyway. They have wasted my tax dollars and they aren't about to quit. Give me and my "blogger friends" something to do!

Doesn't Baxter and Iscman know that the retired Judge Cirigliano ties to Baxter could be easily checked out? Or are they so cocky and so confident of their POWER in this community that they just don't care?

Anonymous

Does this retired Lorain County Judge recommended by Iscman get paid for this? If so, wonder if he'll DOUBLE BILL the taxpayers like he's been known to do in the past?

Anonymous

Your right----Iscman had no business recommending anyone to do anything in this matter and Baxter had NO RIGHT to alter a document. As for Baxter being above the law-----he just THINKS he is.

Very true statement THAT THE "FIX" TO MAKE SURE THE FIRED POLICE CHIEF NUESSE STAYS FIRED IS ALREADY IN PLACE. Yet considering how fast this "fix" was exposed, tell them to bring on the NEXT.

Anonymous

The can or worms that is about to be opened is not a pretty sight and you wouldn't believe how many people are all involved. Thank God that some people are finally beginning to see the bigger picture and hopefully ALL of the key players will be brought to trial in the near future. To prosecute the Erie County Justice System under the RICO act is a concept that seems more logical than ever if the truth were to be told. If you want to make Erie County a better place for yourself and your children, you have got to take a stand against corruption once and for all. Look up Erie County, Ohio on the Web and you won't believe how messed up this place really is. Thank you, Matt W. for not allowing the "Good Old Boys" to intimidate you or to pay for your silence.

It truly is a shame that Matt Westerhold continues to spread hatred. Too bad that he is so biased and too bad that the Nuesse supporters have been told only one side of the story through this newspaper, and..they believe it. Just like "ELWOOD" said, it is the publics only soure of info in this matter...too bad it isn't always the TRUTH! The TRUTH WILL come out in the end. Maybe, just maybe Nuesse won't want it to even go there! (If she was smart)

Anonymous

If what you say is true, why doesn't these Nuesse haters enlighten us with the supposed truth. Is it because all they know is to constantly say "If they only knew the truth" but have no proof of this. None of this saying, she is a liar, come out with the proof, like written proof. Is it because they don't really have any written proof, and I don't mean the colusional statement by those backstabbing command people. I just get so tired of hearing how she is so bad, but none of the haters really have any written proof, just what is handed down by word of mouth. I was on the fence on this issue, but with all that I have read, statements, Murman report, Nuesse's reply, the videos, the statement by the command staff, and everything else that has been blogged, I feel Nuesse has indeed been railroaded. You are right about one thing, the truth will come out and when it does there are going to be alot of people, city manager, commissioner, command staff, Baxter, Icsman and others that will have their secret agenda exposed. This they will not like as it will lead to recalls, disbarment, firings, etc. That is if we don't have anymore of the good ol boys doing the investigation.

We can't get rid of SMOOCHY....once Junior leaves for Columbus, he will be the last commissioner to defend this fire station meeting. Unless Fuga and Farrar are going to step up....nah.

The Attorney General resigned not long after admitting he was unqualified for the job. Now it appears the City's Civil Service Commission is unprepared for their job as well. It smacks of the French Revolutionary Court when the prosecutor in this case, Icsman, is telling the court, the Civil Service Commission, who to select for the judge in this case! Talk about collusion!

Anonymous

Whether for or against Chief Nuesse, is no longer the question here! What is, is the appearance that there seems to be quite a manipulation of our judicial system here in Erie County, as well now, the Civil Service Commission! This all didn't start w/Nuesse-gate, but quite a number of years ago, and well before this blog-site was made available! In regards to "It's just too bad"....to end with a threat only makes people think otherwise! I've wondered as to why those that complained against her didn't do it the proper way, PERSONAL grievances through the union rather than GANGING-UP, as well permission to spend taxpayers' money not being sought before hiring Murman for a SO-CALLED investigation, statements made by lead people that were CHANGED, etc.. I've questioned the handling of situations involving officers, one EXAMPLE would be how the whole Fitzpatrick case was handled...how LONG did it take for this man to ADMIT his guilt? Was that before or after his voice stress-test? Did he even take one, cause I believe the victim did! How long did it take for charges to be pressed, let alone brought before a court? Then to do only 8 mos.! If I recall correctly, he was REALEASED EARLY, PLEASE! Here's my point...when you have fellow officers/detectives willing to do what they can to help you out/cover-up what you did, a legal system that can hand-pick JUDGES, WE THE PEOPLE HAVE A MAJOR PROBLEM! Sorry, I have a major problem w/crimes against children, let alone those that will help cover-up or stall any JUSTICE that could be provided to the victims and their families! A light was already turned on and then taken away. How conveneint that was! Someone is only replacing that light w/a brighter bulb! Mr. Westerhold, I may not agree with you on all things, and although there are those that think you're just another RAVING LUNATIC W/AN AGENDA, if there is any SUBSTANCE to what SEEMS TO BE A VERY APPARANT PATTERN here in Erie County, please keep doing what you do. Again, this isn't nor should it be just about Nuesse-gate! Just a personal opinion, anyone involved at a CITY/ADMINISTRATIVE level should have to REMOVE THEMSELVES from any sort of JUCICIAL selecting process, that goes for Mr. Icsman, FIRST AND FOREMOST! As well, why hasn't the Attorney Generals' Office been contacted?

Before Baxter became involved in the firing of Police Chief Nuesse for ALLEGED DISHONESTY, Baxter should have cleaned up his own DISHONEST and ILLEGAL house.

Anonymous

According to a Sandusky prosecutor a County Recorder is required by Law to file anything a Lorain County attorney gives her to file, no matter how DISHONEST and illegal she knows the filings to be..... According to the REAL Ohio Law if a County Recorder does any act, contrary to Section 317.01 to 317.33 of the ORC, the recorder shall be liable to any parties harmed through their negligent errors and ommissions, including those arising from indexing and filings of papers......IT APPEARS LIKE SOMEBODY WAS A TAD BIT DISHONEST HERE.................

Anonymous

A retired Lorain County Judge who sentenced EB to prison for 8 years is recommended by Iscman to be the civil service commission's hearing officer in Nuesse's appeal? Better be careful, Ms. Nuesse---the Big Boys in little Sandtown might come up with some trumped up charges and send you to the joint.

Sam

Matt you are the world's biggest loser.
Take Kim and move far, far, far away. If you want to stay in the newpaper business, try an early morning route, far, far, far away! Bye, bye Kimmie & soon Matt.

Sam

I am sorry for the last blog. I meant bye bye Kline and Baxter.

I would like to know if the ball is in Baxter's court on the Attorney General decision, on what grounds can Baxter refuse to send this request onto the Attorney General's office? What is the procedure with regards to what Baxter does with the request? Does Baxter have that much power to stop the request from going any higher or is he required to send it on? Things have to be pretty serious for a town to request this kind of action and it shouldn't be taken lightly by Baxter.

Why, Mr. Westerhold, do you CONTINUE to DESTROY this city? Do you live here? If not, I suggest you butt out and you and Nuesse leave this city and the people in it ALONE! You have done major damage printing nothing but lies. Why are you so biased? Do you and Kim date or something? I have lived here for 51 years and I AM SICK OF YOU BOTH!

Anonymous

You even get it in trouble if you retract a statement to set the record straight... Good for you staying in Erie County and trying to do the right thing. Stick with it, I know it is tough some days!

Anonymous

I don't believe the previous version of this blog contained INCORRECT INFORMATION at all. Must be getting too close for comfort...........

Anonymous

You sure got on this "corrected change" quick. One might have to wonder why YOUR so biased?

Anonymous

Maybe someone better positioned to provide the "fundamental fairness" this situation demands would be Lorain County ATTORNEYS instead of the retired Lorain County JUDGE.

Anonymous

If Elizabeth Baumgartner was as "crazy" as Erie County and others made her out to be, why is she sitting in a jail cell instead of getting help for her so-called mental illness? Considering that she underwent numerous court-ordered psychiatric evaluations and was ruled COMPETENT each time, I guess that says it all.

It appears to me that Matt is backing off because of pressure from the GOBs.
The wrong judge was named but the fact remains the same. A "rent a judge" was called in to FIX cases. A "rent a judge" sentenced a woman to 8 years for her right to free speech. A "rent a judge" gave an ex-cop rapist a free pass from jail.

And Matt, why did you delete all of the comments? Did Baxter give you a call?
The comments had nothing to do if you named the wrong judge. The comments had to go with the ACTIONS of the "rent a judge" whether his name was Cirigliano, Markus or Elmer Fudd. Names do not really matter but what matters are the ACTIONS of these judges that are called in to FIX cases.

And I agree 100% that EB was RAILROADED too as have been other people in Erie County and elsewhere.

Matt, just when people were giving you and the SR credit for reporting the truth for a change, you back off.

Put the comments that were deleted back up. You made your correction as to the name of the judge but the fact remains that "rent a judges" are called in to FIX cases to the satisfaction of those who hired them.

Call in the Feds to investigate the GOBs and their actions the PROPER and CORRECT way. I don't trust these "pay for" investigations by Murman or these "pay for" judges to fix cases.

The Feds will investigate for FREE!!!

I was referring to Mr. Westerhold in general, so you can butt out any day also.
