Hello everyone! Nothing new to report this week. I only worked out two days due to the weather and lack of motivation.
No, I have not lost my motivation. I look at my weight loss monthly and I actually lost the 10.5 pounds in three weeks so with this last week being the end on one month and the start of another, I didn’t put as much pressure on myself when the weather became a issue.
The days I did make it to the gym, I went hard so I’m OK with that. For the month of February, I decided not to weigh in again until Feb. 28. That is when my new numbers will be due for my next feature in the paper. I know what I am doing is working so whatever I intensify will only help me lose more.
I think seeing one big number will be a great experience. I want to go even harder this month. My personal trainer Barb Biltz of NOMS fitness center has added more circuit training during the week. I have learned some new exercises to do in the pool so I want to apply them to my days at the YMCA.
One of my goals this month is to be able to complete 60 laps a workout. I love to swim so the more I practice, the better I will get. I burn so many calories in the pool and it is low-impact.
Barb also has me running a lot more. I enjoy the fact that I can do it, but I don’t like doing it. I know running is a big key to weight loss. The calories you burn are amazing. I feel accomplished once I finish, but I am just not comfortable running yet. My breathing is a bigger problem than my body’s willingness. I know that comes from smoking so hopefully I will overcome this issue soon. I probably give Barb the most problems about the stairs! I hate the stairs! It hurts by the 3rd set and I can’t breathe by then either. She claims it’s going to get easier so I will just pray for that day to be sooner than later.
I am finally going to meet with the dietician Wednesday. Our last appointment was cancelled due to the weather. I’m excited because this is the missing link that I have not been able to take advantage of. Up until now my diet has been personal changes I have felt were good. To have someone give me knowledge on the foods I should eat, how much and when is going to make my weight loss progress even healthier.
