BLOG: FIT Challenge 2011: Meet Natalie Johnson, ‘My weight is affecting my self-esteem’

Jan 4, 2011

My name is Natalie Johnson. I am 32 years old and obese. I am happily married with two kids (along with two stepchildren). They are the reason, along with my health and self desire, that I’m writing you today for help.

I have always carried 15 to 20 pounds more than what was expected for my height (5 feet 10 inches). From 2000-2006, I have had a miscarriage, lost two babies at birth and have given birth to my beautiful daughter (7) and energetic son (3). I went from 177 pounds to 286 pounds!

I have come to realize that it is affecting my life in the worst ways. I am not able to run around and play with my children. They are both very active in sports and I want to be able to be active with them along with teach them to stay healthy. My weight is affecting my self esteem the most.

Along with the fact that I am 32 already and the longer I don’t make a change the harder it’s going to be. I am writing you today for help in succeeding in my goals of losing weight and learning how to live a healthy life.

CONGRATS NATALIE!  I knew you would make it!  Now you know what I've been through now it's your turn!  You're gonna do awesome!

You can do it!! Don't get discouraged and don't give up!!

Good luck Natalie! You can do this!

I think all of the FIT Challengers are gonna do awesome this year! There is a great line up and I can feel the excitement brewing.

Thank you! I am looking forward to the rest of my life!

Natalie, Hi!

Congratulations on being selected to participate in the FIT Challenge 2011.

Being that you are the only woman participating in the challenge for 2011 know that Annette and I got your back.

If you need someone to work out with, if you need encouragement, support, a shoulder to cry on, or just a sounding board, we're there for ya.

Sometimes it just helps to talk to someone who has been where you are going.

Thank you Ellyn. We will have to get together. I am working out at NOMS so I know you have a membership too. I plan to represent us women, so watch out guys, I'm not going to make it easy for you!
