63°Footprints in snow lead deputies to drunken driver

Erie County Sheriff’s deputies nabbed a drunken driver Monday morning after tracking him through the snow and into some woods near Ohio 113, a deputy’s report said.
Robert Bores, 21, of Berlin Heights, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, obstructing official business, criminal trespass, failure to control, improper passing, open container and failure to stop at a stop sign.
A homeowner near Cable Road and Ohio 113 called deputies at about 2:55 a.m. when a green Ford Explorer got stuck on a mailbox post after crushing the mailbox.
The vehicle eventually broke free, but when deputies caught up to the SUV it continued to flee. The SUV tore across icy roads and even passed a snow plow before Bores parked it behind a barn in the 11000 block of Ohio 113, the report said.
Bores then fled on foot, but fresh tracks in the snow gave him away, the report said. Deputies tracked the footprints across an open field and into the woods, where they found Bores huddled under a briar patch. The search lasted about an hour.
“I just didn’t want to go to jail,” a shivering Bores told deputies, according to the report.
An ambulance took Bores to Fisher-Titus Medical center, where he told doctors he’d been drinking “everything ... all day and night,” the report said.
He was later to the Erie County jail, where late Tuesday he was being held without bond pending a court appearance Friday.

But Your 'Trip' is Daily.. back & forth to work, at work, coming DOWN at work!!! or should I say ON THE JOB!!!?!! There was '1' comment as to what YOU are referring to.. & EVERYONE that knows his parents KNOW THEY LOVE THEIR SON!! & HE KNOWS IT!! YOU ARE BARKING UP THE WRONG TREE THERE BUDDY!! He's 21 You can't keep him at home.. He's old enough to make his own decisions. . Even though he's made a few Bad Choices & for that he's PAYING for it..

First i'm smart because i don't drink so i don't have to worry about getting caught. Now i know what the comment don't fall far from the tree meant. I can see where his problems stem from now cause EVERY child wants their parents love no matter what age they are or what they're out doing. He must have really messed up parents not to want their love. And your right he made the wrong decision and he will pay for it.

Hey Dick Tracey Looks like you got yourself a LONG TIME Crimmanal !! better lock that Thug up & throw away the key.. Big Guy huh? showing the kids record.. Cause It's always good to kick someone while their down.. Who Cares if YOU care or not where he was found.. Why do they have to lie? He turned himself in.. That's nice to know they took the time to get him evaluated at the hospital first.. He could of been the next Victim at the jailhouse.. Apperantly the kid has a drinking problem & he needs help..

Great JOB Erie County Deputies! There is plenty of room for discussion on the intelligentsia of this fine pillar of society. We can postulate that his failed, not-so-smart, escape plan was due to the causal factor of his intoxication. I see Erie County "stacked" the charges on this urbanite. Remember, "If the police have to chase you, they are bringing an azzwhipping with them."

Hey, Love or Hate I think it is really precious how you have created a screen name just to come on here and defend your boyfriend. But I am affraid your fighting a loosing battle.
Lets not split hairs here, the facts are the facts, I don't care if he was found under a briar patch or a lilac bush. He admits he was "drinking everything....all day and night" and then he gets in a car and drives, endangering innocent people! I find that despicable.
Looks like this is not the first time your boy has been in trouble either.

I agree with schmoo thanking the Lord that Nobody was hurt.. & yes Robert does need to turn his life around.. & as for what I heard the deputies didn't look for the kid for hours They SAT in their Cruisers cause it was cold out... He turned himself IN, they didn't find him under briars.. The home owner where he went in the ditch ( icy roads) HELPED HIM OUT OF THE DITCH, pulled him out..
So don't believe everything you read..

Knuckle -- usually your comments are right on spec but in this case your completly wrong -- we are friends of the family and his dad is nothing like that. When you have kids, somtimes no matter what the parents do, kids get into trouble -- maybe this is something that Robert has to go through before he can turn his life around. I am just really happy and thanking the lord that nobody was hurt in this mess.
