William C. Erf, 78, of Bellevue, died Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 10, 2012, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
He was born July 6, 1933, in Norwalk, and was a 1951 graduate of Bellevue High School. Bill was a life long farmer, loved the dairy and his Guernsey cows.
He was a member of Congregational Community United Church of Christ in Monroeville; Huron County Farm Bureau; Searchers Farm Bureau Council; Ohio Guernsey Breeders Association, where he had served on the board; Lyme Grange; Lyme Township Election Board for 25 years; and loved to travel.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, the former Minetta R. Schnee; three sons, Kevin W. (Laurie) Erf of Bellevue, David F. (Kathy) Erf of Oakdale, Minn., and Steven (Barbara) Erf of Bellevue; 11 grandchildren; one sister Jean Irwin of Vero Beach, Fla.; and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William P. and Marguerite (Clayton) Erf.
Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, at Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe St., where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14. The Rev. Dr. Wayne Chasney will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Monroeville.
