Cedar Point's attendance soars with the thermometer

SANDUSKY
Much like the temperature and humidity, Cedar Point's revenues skyrocketed in late June and early July.
That's probably not a coincidence, park and city officials said.
Between June 20 and July 20, the city collected about $429,000 in admissions-tax revenues, nearly double the previous month's numbers.

OK all you UNION freaks, lets DEMAND they SPEND it NOW! SPEND it ALL! Ha! Ha! You liberals are EXACTLY like the president YOU voted for. SPEND it no matter how BROKE the city, county and state are from this blossoming economy. Just give out IOU's like CA for their state UNION workers. Without Cedar Point and the MILLIONS it will generate in four months, you would ALL be living in a ghost town. Can't DEMAND very much when there is NO money. Oops, a few of you crybabies can DEMAND we keep spending when there is NO money left. I am sure that is exactly how you manage your own finances. CP will be completely closed in October and so ends all this TAX money. And WHAT is the liberal solution? RAISE TAXES! The winter will be long and COLD. Ha! Ha!

wow, a bit uneducated. Crazyaide, you really have no clue to the effect that CP has on the community financialy. The hotels, food, shopping, gas, and anything else going on that your "rude" tourists do. CP is only the starting gate for what the city racks in when it comes to tax money and profits that the business owners receive. Sink into lake erie? Something tells me that you should just jump in and take a deep breath. It's that kind of negative attitude that's a burden to the city and the area. What we need is less people with attitudes like yours.

Nothing like being crammed into a place with thousands of sticky, stinky rude, loud, nasty punks, meenie boppers, slow walkers, teen witches, thugs, hillbillies & the worst... long lines of rowdy sugar filled little brats on a 112 degree day. Just where I'd wanna be!

Personally, I wish Cedar Point would sink into Lake Erie and take all the rude Tourist with it!!!!

Just think how much the city would be getting in admission taxes if the city commissioners would just raise it. I am with Commissioner Farrar...Raise It! Raise It!! Why should the rich get richer on our backs for Pete's sake. Politicians will not be happy until they wipe out the middle class.

Am I the only one who sweats like a pig ? I wouldn't even think about going to C.P. when it's blazing hot. My shirt would be soaking wet. Ugh ! Soak City is the place for me from June - August.
