Flood warning

Huron River expected to rise past flood stage

The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a flood warning for the Huron River near Milan from this morning until this evening.

At 5:30 a.m. today the stage was 17.4 feet with minor flooding forecast. Flood stage is 18 feet and is forecast to rise above flood stage early this morning and rise to near 18.5 feet this morning. The river will fall below flood stage this afternoon.

At 18 feet flooding occurs in low lying areas along the river from Milan to Franklin Flats.

Huron County had some major road flooding last evening. Route 99 was impassable.
