After four consecutive days of rain and wind gusts exceeding 50 mph, Bellevue's Division III first-round game scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday at Bellevue Athletic Field has been moved to Strobel Field at Cedar Point Stadium in Sandusky.

Bellevue's home field is a natural grass surface, and will not recover in time from all the water damage it received, which included heavy downpour rain on Friday as well.

Saturday's game in Sandusky is still scheduled for 7 p.m., with gates opening at 5:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at Bellevue High School for $7, while all tickets bought at the game are $9.

The Redmen (9-1) just played at Sandusky on Friday, posting a 52-6 win in the regular season finale.

One other area team is hosting a home playoff game this weekend, and will not be impacted by the weather. St. Paul (7-3) hosts Tiffin Calvert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, and there are no current plans to relocate the matchup. Whitney Field is also a natural grass surface, but had fresh sod and state-of-the-art drainage tiles installed in August.

The actual playing surface is in fair condition according to St. Paul and Norwalk administrators.

sign of the times....something wrong with playing football in the mud and getting your uniform a little dirty?

Really FTS. The field can be ready for play by next season no matter how bad it gets torn up. WE used to play in the mud and rain.

It's all about the $$$. More seats to fill at CPS. More restaurants to serve meals to the out of towners.
Be happy they didn't move it to Fremont.

So if Bellevue wins and Perkins wins this weekend will their upcoming playoff game be at Strobel Field ?
