Police picked up Donald Roberts, 36, after the friend called Sandusky County sheriff’s deputies Monday after the fight, according to a police report.

The friend told deputies Roberts dragged him out of his home in the 1700 block of County Road 213 and punched him several times before leaving the house.

The two had a disagreement after the friend accidentally picked up Roberts’ keys when he was at Roberts’ house the day before, and Roberts told him to hold onto them until later.

Roberts needed to get into his vehicle Monday, but his friend wouldn’t return the keys because a Level 3 snow emergency had been issued. Roberts showed up at his house and assaulted him.

Roberts remained jailed on an assault charged Tuesday afternoon.

An extra set of keys would have prevented this tragedy!
