Vermilion High School junior Anthony Bodde and sophomore Sarah Bartlome were selected in March as two of 18 state winners of the Ohio American Legion’s Americanism and Government Test program. Both students tested in the top three of their respective grade levels. Additionally, junior Morgan Walker scored high enough to be selected as an alternate student for the program.

More than 65,000 high school students complete the Ohio American Legion’s Americanism and Government Test each year. The 18 state winners received an all-day, all-expenses paid trip March 2-8 to Gettysburg, Pa., and Washington, D.C. A highlight of the trip was a wreath laying at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery.
