50 years ago, 1964: A much put-upon Nickel Plate Railroad flat car gave up the ghost in Bellevue after many miles of service. The car simply buckled in the middle, the strain of a 157,240 lb. solid piece of metal was too much for it.

25 years ago, 1989: Chines troops massacred unarmed civilians, cutting a bloody swatch through Beijing and rolling into student-occupied Tiananmen Square with tanks and armored personnel carriers. Scores of people were killed  and hundreds wounded as the military put a violent end to a peaceful protest.

10 years ago, 2004: A elderly Sandusky man wrote nearly 300 checks to a fraudulent sweepstakes company before his son intervened, according to Sandusky Police. The man was contacted by a company called ACH Warehouse and told he won a large sum of money, but would need to mail in money to collect it. The exact dollar amount was not reported.

From the depths of the memory hole - this is also the 50th anniversary of the U.S. orchestrated military coup in Brazil. It was one of the great crimes of the century. Becasue almost no Americans know this history, they live in a fantasy world.

25 years ago Coasterfan, Big dog and the rest of the liberal crowd were cheering FOR the guys driving the tanks in Tiananmen Square.

Hey "done gone" - you made that up. In fact, I was in China around that time and did what I could to support the protesters. What did YOU do?
And BTW, the Brazil coup was the full responsibility of the Kennedy & Johnson administrations. It's much more productive to look at policy, not party labels. I have little respect for partisans of any stripe.

Actually i did not make that up. Dog and coaster want the president to have the right to drone kill citizens without a trial, Pretty sure they would not care if he drove a tank over them.
As for what did i do, I vote against those who wish to undermine our freedom and rights here at home. You know like those who vote for the two parties who created these messes and now want you to believe they will be the ones who will fix them.
As for respecting party hacks, Well you can clearly see i do not like em either.
