50 years ago, 1963: A man and woman in Collingswood, N.J., were fined $1,000 each and given six-month suspended sentences for handing out tranquilizer pills as 'trick or treat' candy to children at Halloween. They claimed they gave the pills to the children by mistake.

25 years ago, 1988: Pan Am Flight 103, en route from London to New York, exploded in the skies over southern Scotland. All 258 people aboard were killed in the crash, along with at least 15 people who were on the ground, in the worst air disaster in British history.

10 years ago, 2003: The government raised the national threat level to orange, indicating a high risk of terrorist attack, and said threat indicators were "perhaps greater now than at any point" since Sept. 11, 2001, with strikes possible during the holidays.

Just Because

The couple fined for giving out drugs instead of candy have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with Willy Wonka! His photo should be IMMEDIATELY REMOVED from this title...this is misleading and in poor taste!!! Unprofessional SR!

I don't know if you've ever seen that movie but I'm pretty sure he gives the children drugs.

Just Because

I have seen this movie more times than anyone and it is one of my favorite movies. NOWHERE is there even the slightest hint of giving away drugs. You are WHACKED!

I agree, I do not think there were drugs involved with the movie. A very active imagination yes. drugs no.

Contango

Justbecause, you're right- everything within the SR's power should be done to uphold this FICTIONAL CHARACTERS' image within our community. How dare they attempt to smear this FICTIONAL man's character through such slanderous association with REAL people.... The lawsuit should begin immediately to protect this FICTIONAL MAN and his FICTIONAL OOMPA-LOOMPA'S - I propose a new defense fund be set up in which I am willing to contribute 3 Million Monopoly dollars, but only if I can be the car and not the thimble.
