50 years ago, 1963: Sandusky High made $5,546.16 on football receipts for 1963, with expenditures for the entire sports years reaching $37,319.74. The total included money for the sale of game tickets, program sales and Blue Streak Booster's Club. Most of the money was spent on equipment.

25 years ago, 1988: Kris Knight, senior at Edison High School, was picked as the 5th Congressional District's candidate for the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

10 years ago, 2003: President Nixon apparently didn't think much of Ronald Reagan, calling his fellow California Republican "strange" and "an uncomfortable man to be around," according to White House tapes recently released.

Re: "Pot meet kettle"?

Obviously hollienewton is one of those dumbed down libs.

BabyMomma

Lol

Dr. Information

And the point of this article. Is this journalism? Par for the course from the SR.

deertracker

Shame on you SR for printing anything about the crook and the forgetful gipper! How dare you?????????????????????

Contango

Re: "forgetful gipper!"

A vast world of improvement over failed Pres. Carter.

BTW: Pres. Nixon was one of you - a liberal.

hollienewton

Not sure what any of this had to do with being liberal? I did think it was funny that Nixon was calling someone else strange.

And this is not an article, it is snippets of events that were printed in the paper years ago. I'm not writing any of this, merely repeating things already written.

Contango

@ hollienewton:

Did YOU write the headline? THAT'S where the 'problem' lies.

It's a contraction of the saying: Pot calling the kettle black.

Meaning that they are both sullied in a similar fashion.

IMO, it resembles something that a dumbed down historically ignorant liberal would write.

It's akin to showing a photo of Pres. Obama shaking hands with Raul Castro with the caption: Pot and kettle meet.

Capice?

BTW: See the headline for the "Health" piece from 12/11.

SB: flew not "flu."

kURTje

Yes it is history. Reagan ruled by the zodiac. He was also Lew Wasserman's *itch. Nixon gave Jimmy Hoffa a pardon. History is great! Deertracker don't sully a persons heroes...they cry too easily.

Re: "Reagan,"

Again: A vast world of improvement over the failed Pres. Carter, who you probably voted for kurtie.

Or were you even outa diapers yet?

kURTje

Troll Winnie stay on topic. History. Figures don't lie - but liars figure.

Contango

Re: "stay on topic."

As should you Capt. Kook.

You eventually got outa diapers right? You were probably an anal expulsive as a child. :)

AJ Oliver

Hollie, please ignore the insults by the anonymous cowards; another good reason to end SR blog anonymity, right? I cannot wait.

Contango

Re: "insults by the anonymous cowards;"

And because you provide your initials and your surname your inanities are somehow more credible?

So is this you: "A.J. Oliver, 1112 Wayne Street,"?

Frankly, I could care less.

Any system can be circumvented.

They both were strange and make many uncomfortable to this day.
There! Someone said it plainly.
Right On, Hollie Newton.
BTW, they were both crooks, as well.

Contango

Re: "They both were strange,"

Disagree. Unlike most politicians, Pres. Reagan said what he meant and meant what he said.

My favorite quote:

"Government is not the solution to our problem government IS the problem"

Pres. Obama, Dec. 5, 2013:

"We have these big agencies, some of which are outdated, some of which are not designed properly. . . . The White House is just a tiny part of what is a huge, widespread organization with increasingly complex tasks in a complex world."

So the problem of big govt. IS big govt.?

Looks kinda like Presidents Obama and Reagan agree on something.

kURTje

Again history...of you, plus another. You 2 got many deleted. This publication & another imo are changing their formats because of you two. pdb. A.J. Oliver is right about you.

Re: "Again history..."

Deranged off-topic rambling is so typical of you kooky kurtie.

hollienewton

Not EVERYTHING is a liberal/conservative conspiracy.

Maybe those tin foil hats are getting a bit too tight?

Re: "Not EVERYTHING is a liberal/conservative conspiracy."

True. And sometimes a cigar is JUST a cigar.

In the future, you may want to write what you mean and mean what you write.

BTW: I voted for McGovern.

@ hollie
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pterocarya frax...

Thanks Hollie, for not falling into his stupid little trap. I admire you.

For the rest of you...in many cases the author doesn't write the headline. Hollie doesn't tell you that, though, just to keep you guessing.

Contango

Re: "Hollie doesn't tell you that,"

Sometimes an omission can reveal much.

puddin95

I miss Ronnie.

kURTje

Overlook him Hollie, he's a bitter old man who hates facts.

Re: "he's (snip)"

Been to the VA recently for a refill on your psych meds kurtie?
