50 years ago, 1963: A young man who once tried to renounce his country was charged with firing the two bullets that killed President Kennedy. "No, I didn't kill the President." Lee Harvey Oswald, 24, said after he was charged with murderer.

25 years ago, 1988: The nation's pediatricians believed rock videos were exposing teens to an unhealthy dose of sex, violence, drugs and suicide, and called on teen idols to start setting healthier examples through the new art form.

10 years ago, 2003: An Ohio historical marker commemorating Civil War Maj. Gen. James Birdseye McPherson was unveiled at a special ceremony. The marker, which celebrated the general's 175th birthday, was at McPherson Highway and East Maple Street.
