50 years ago, 1963: Huron County Sheriff clamped down on prisoner visiting hours to the county jail after an attempted break-out. The man who was supposed to get the keys for the inmates was to visit the jail on the pretext of delivering cigarettes. The plan was foiled when someone tipped-off the sheriff.

25 years ago, 1988: Great Lakes Yacht & Marine Inc. was opening a boat dealership at 2000 Cleveland Road, Sandusky, right across from Shooters. The site was being vacated by Matesic Oldsmobile-Cadillac.

10 years ago, 2003: The marijuana-filled Corvette a convicted drug dealer forfeited in a plea agreement was a smokin' set of wheels for the Erie County Sheriff's office. The car was refurbished and used as a P.R. car - for parades, fairs, etc. "This car was confiscated from a drug dealer" was painted on the back.

What happened to it?

Maybe you need to ask the mailbag?
I'd like to know, as well.

Raoul Duke

Not a McDonald's employee, but a drug dealer. Good message.

Shooters. I miss the pool and Saturday afternoon bikini contests.
