50 years ago, 1963: Hair stylist Sandy Burton Price, known as "Mr. Burton," was a modern day male 'fairy godmother.' New to the Sandusky area he loved yoga, thrived on theater and the entertainment world, but his real love was hairstyling.

25 years ago, 1988: A tractor-trailer crashed into an Ohio turnpike toll plaza and burst into flames in what officials described as the worst accident of its kind in the road's history. The North Ridgeville toll booth was demolished when the truck, loaded with steel, jackknifed and slid directly in to it.

10 years ago, 2003: Huron Police Chief Randy Glovinsky wanted to see traffic lights at the ramps to Ohio 2 from Rye Beach Road. The intersection averaged about 25 crashes per year since road improvements were made to the area.
