50 years ago, 1963: Perkins Township police were to carry tear-gas bombs with them, but they would have to toss the missiles by hand. The bombs could be used for dispersing crowds or flushing someone from a house.

25 years ago, 1988: Throngs of people converged on Cedar Point and the former U.S. Post office at Washington and Jackson streets to mark the first day issuance of the new carousel stamps. The Postal Service issued about 550,000 stamps to the Sandusky Post Office, but it was estimated that 204,000 were already sold.

10 years ago, 2003: This week's Top 12 Concert Tours: Bruce Springsteen and theĀ  E Street Band, Metallica, Eagles, Phish, Aerosmith/KISS, Jimmy Buffett, Dave Mathews Band, Fleetwood Mac, Dixie Chicks, Pearl Jam, The Dead, and Ozzfest.

I still have my carousel horse stamp that was put out. I wish I had gotten the entire set but as young as I was didn't think it was all that important to get them and only got the one that represented Sandusky and Cedar Point. Still kind of cool though
