50 years ago, 1963: The Stone House Restaurant, East Perkins Avenue, boasted a large air conditioned dining room and full choice menu. The 120-year-old home was owned by Joe and Marie Naymik and had been a restaurant for over 35 years.

25 years ago, 1988: Perkins Township voters rejected a 2-mill, five year permanent improvement levy for the third time. The unofficial vote was 1,321 for the levy and 1,482 against the levy.

10 years ago, 2003: LeBron James had the hottest selling jersey, not just in NBA merchandise, but among all licensed sports apparel. Enough No. 23 jerseys had been sold to fill the 20,000-seat Gund Arena four times, or over $4 million worth of shirts.

I guess this is where our youth wish to go so often. I visited a large manufacturing plant last week and I would guess 50% of the engineers were Indian, I read the PDF's supplied by Perkins schools and 3 of the 5 were sport funding related. And most of the local schools eliminated their shop classes a number of years ago. Sad times in this country and we are falling behind as a super power, I guess we are super players and worship them now instead! King, LMFAO!!!!
