50 years ago, 1963: Thieves, apparently armed with 500 Coca-Cola machine keys stolen from a Tiffin Avenue bottling plant, were nearly caught. A local merchant saw men running from the pop machine located outside his building, where $9.40 was missing from the machine.

25 years ago, 1988: Rock legends Sammy Hagar and Eddie Van Halen stopped at Shooters and had a few drinks while passing through the area on vacation. Shooters manager John Moore hinted the two would possibly show up again the next evening.

10 years ago, 2003: Lance Armstrong won the Tour de France for a fifth time, one of only four men to have done so. Armstrong, already vowing a sixth victory, beat Jan Ullrich by 11 seconds for the historic win.

$9.40 in 1963 is worth $72.49 today.

Reads like a "little" better haul huh?
