50 years ago, 1963: Huron Township Clerk Duane Batch was brought 147 pairs of crows feet, as evidence they had been destroyed by several township residents. Bounty was 25 cents per crow. Clerk Batch pondered how to dispose of them. 

25 years ago, 1988: Former Miss America and Sandusky native Jacquelyn Mayer Townsend, was to speak at her daughter's graduation. She survived a stroke that paralyzed her right side, and had to re-learn to speak at the age of 28. She was also honored with the Madonna Association's Crystal Angel Award, given to people who inspire or encourage rehabilitation efforts nationwide.

10 years ago, 2003: The Port Clinton Walleye Festival crowned Alexis Dunfee as Walleye Festival Queen, Veronika Justice as Princess, and Marissa Smith as Junior Queen. The festival ran through out the weekend with games, rides and fun.
