25 years ago, 1988: America’s first space station, Skylab, was launched 15 years ago. Three crews of astronauts visited the craft and spent a total of 171 days, 13 hours and 14 minutes aboard the giant space station from May 1973 through February 1974. During that time more than 177,900 photographs of the sun and 46,000 of the earth were taken.
10 years ago, 2003: Wayne Brady was named best talk show host, and his show tied with “The View” for best talk show in the 2003 Daytime Emmy Awards. “Reading Rainbow” won best children’s series for the seventh time, “Sesame Street” was named best preschool children’s series for the ninth time, Alex Trebek won for best game show host for “Jeopardy.”
