50 years ago, 1963: The strike by Ford workers at the giant Lorain assembly plant would not effect production at the Ford plant here in Sandusky, according to personnel manager James McKelvey.

25 years ago, 1988: About 100 Marines waged a two-hour firefight with 40-50 uniformed intruders at a fuel depot in Panama City, Panama, where a Marine was mistakenly shot the previous night. Despite heavy fire, no casualties were reported.
