Erie County Sheriff’s deputies Saturday evening charged a Sandusky man with inducing panic after an argument led to an allegation he had a gun and was threatening people.
Deputies charged Terry Travon Thomas, 30, 400 block Hancock St., with inducing panic and persistent disorderly conduct after Thomas told neighbors to call police because a “white man was inside the apartment with a gun and was going to kill a female.”
Thomas had been inside the apartment drinking alcohol with Cody Lee Kaiser and Kathleen Marie Witter when the three started to argue. Deputies ordered all three out of the apartment at gunpoint with hands showing.
No one had a gun.
Kaiser admitted he and Witter had argued, but said he never threatened Witter and did not have a gun. Kaiser said Witter and Thomas had also argued. Thomas began to use profanity toward the officers and tried pulling away as deputies arrested him.
