Dwight Harris Jr., 44, 1700 block Wayne St., was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence, failure to control a motor vehicle and driving under suspension.

Harris was approaching the curve at East Boalt and Wayne streets Sunday around 6:30 a.m., when his Oldsmobile missed the turn, struck a road sign and barreled through a chain-link fence at Jaycee Park, according to a police report.

Sandusky officers were called to the area a short while later, after someone noticed the vehicle driving around in the park’s baseball field, apparently unable to get out, police said. Harris was driving in the outfield when officers arrived, and eventually pulled over near the dugout to give himself up, the report said.

He later failed field sobriety tests and was taken to the Erie County jail.

Once again, no car, no driving. Driving under suspension in Sandusky means nothing, as long as a vehicle is available to the offender.

You're OUT!
