Woman arrested twice in one hour

After a Sandusky woman was arrested Monday afternoon for shoplifting from Walmart, Perkins police watched her move on to the mall and shoplift yet again — all in the span of about an hour, police said.

Deanna Peabody, 30, 1900 block E. Oldgate Road, was charged with theft, receiving stolen property and two counts of possessing criminal tools.

Peabody’s alleged accomplice, Timothy Wahl, 46, 1300 block Filmore St., was charged with complicity to theft.

At 4:04 p.m., a Walmart security officer caught Peabody removing tags from clothing, then stashing the items in a plastic Sam’s Club bag she’d brought with her, according to a Perkins police report.

A Perkins police officer responded and served Peabody her theft charges, then watched as she entered Wahl’s vehicle and drove off, the report said.

At 4:52 p.m. the same officer saw Wahl’s vehicle in the Elder-Beerman lot. The officer watched him drive to a different entrance and pick up Peabody, the report said.

When officers stopped the pair to question them, Peabody admitted to stealing two dresses and a shirt from the mall, the report said.

Peabody was taken to Firelands Regional Medical Center instead of the Erie County jail, because she told officers she had stomach pain and was nine months pregnant, the report said.

AAAAh yes, pull the "Oh my baby" scam to not goto jail. You had no problems "shopping" and stealing. But the minute you get caught, you are having stomach pains.

"pull the "Oh my baby"

No, just pull the baby and give it to someone that will not use it as a welfare tool!
