The Perkins girls tennis team swept Sandusky 5-0 Wednesday in a non-conference crosstown matchup.
In singles action, Olivia Rohrbacher swept Heidi Shipley 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1, while Serena Bruno topped Melanie Murray 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2 and Dannielle Schwerer bested Mary Faulkner 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3.
Rohrbacher and Bruno are undefeated for the Pirates (2-1).
In doubles play, Carlee Vaughn and Priscilla Nguyen defeated Lupita Yado and Aliyah Lofties at No. 1 (6-0, 6-2), while the team of Susan Jiang and Karina Haycook defeated Lizzie Boisenault and Jenna Hafer at No. 2 (6-1, 6-0).
"We adjusted the lineup, allowing Priscilla to move to No. 1 doubles, teaming with Carlee," Perkins coach John Schlessman said. "Serena moved up to No. 2 singles and after a slow start, settled in nicely. Olivia was her normal powerful self and once again, dominated. We have much improving to do, but I'm happy with the effort thus far. Melanie Murray was solid for the Streaks in singles today."
