Perkins police are investigating the alleged sexual assault of a girl at Maui Sands over the weekend.

Toledo police detectives reached out to local authorities late Sunday night, after the girl was taken to a Toledo hospital for a sexual assault examination, police said.

Few details on the case were available Tuesday, though Perkins police assistant Chief Robb Parthemore said the girl had accompanied the alleged suspect — an adult man — to the resort, along with his family.

The group, who hail from the Toledo area, was visiting the water park for the weekend, but had already returned home Sunday when the allegations surfaced, police said.

The alleged assault occurred sometime Saturday inside Maui Sands, and it is not yet known if the alleged abuse was ongoing prior to their trip to Perkins Township, Parthemore said.

“There’s still information we don’t have. It doesn’t look like it was violent — we don’t have any statements of that nature anyways,” Parthemore said.

Perkins police Detective Jonah Roesch is now following up with the investigation.

“At this point we’re still trying to get statements from the victim and follow up with evidential information,” Parthemore said.

No arrests have been made in the case.

Good 2 B Me

Seems a little odd...Guess we will wait and see what comes of this.

A little odd? She is away from her family and with this guys family. Don't you think she would want to get home and have the comfort and support from her family and feeling safe of all matters?

To bad the registet will not print a follow up story to let us all know of and what came of this as well as other stories . The Register is bad about this
