March 31 is the deadline for the council to receive the applications for the scholarship, which is open to high school seniors. Those applying have to be children, stepchildren or grandchildren of Sandusky County Safety Council member companies and intend to pursue a course of study in a safety-related field.
A career field would include: occupational safety and health, industrial hygiene, environmental science, risk management, occupational rehabilitation, civil and emergency services, such as law enforcement, firefighter and emergency medical technicians.
Applications are available at the chamber office, which can be reached by calling 419-332-1591, or by going to scchamber.org.
