Two Sandusky boys are facing felony charges for trying to steal another teen’s wallet, police said.
Two boys, both 15, one of 2000 block W. Madison St. and one of 1300 block Carr St., were each charged with complicity to robbery, complicity to assault, underage consumption and tobacco possession.
The Madison Street boy was also charged with drug paraphernalia for a marijuana pipe found in his pocket, according to a Sandusky police report.
It was shortly before 10 p.m. when a resident saw the two boys apparently bullying a third teen near Camp and Barker streets, the report said.
The teen later told police two boys who appeared intoxicated screamed at him and asked him for money. He told them to leave him alone, but the Carr Street boy yanked on his wallet chain and tried to pull the wallet out of his pocket, the report said.
They then threw a rock and cup at him before he walked off.
Officers located the boys on Pearl Street. Both denied the incident, but one’s aunt later revealed they lied about how long they had been at her house, the report said.
Prosecutors authorized the robbery charges, felonies of the third-degree, and the pair were taken to the Erie County Detention Home.
