A Sandusky man couldn’t outrun police or evade the several criminal charges he now faces. Dean L. Swain, 31, 1100 block Wamajo Drive, obtained a slew of charges from an incident occurring around 1 a.m. Saturday.

Around this time, an officer’s cruiser allegedly approached Swain’s car. A related police report indicates Swain tried concealing himself in his vehicle so he wouldn’t be noticed. The officer became suspicious of this and began following Swain.

Swain, according to the report, eventually left his vehicle and tried running away. Sandusky police Officer John Powell cut off Swain and used a Taser to restrain him in handcuffs.

In total, Swain obtained the following charges: tampering with evidence, obstructing official business, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana, driving under suspension, operating a vehicle under the influence and open container in a motor vehicle.
