A Sandusky man was arrested early Sunday for allegedly threatening his girlfriend with a hammer in a gas station parking lot.

Bruce Tucker, 58, 2100 block Parkview Blvd., was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, aggravated menacing, threat of domestic violence and disorderly conduct intoxicated.

Sandusky police were called to the BP at Hayes and Perkins avenues at about 1 a.m. after a clerk tipped them off to the confrontation, according to a police report.

Officers found the couple walking down Hayes Avenue, with Tucker allegedly saying “you got me”

The woman acknowledged Tucker’s threats, but refused to say just what occurred. The BP clerk, however, told officers what happened.

Tucker had hammer in-hand while he yelled at the woman in the lot.

He threatened to strike the woman with the hammer and also threatened to kill her, the report said.

Tucker then stashed the hammer, along with a box cutter, in a tree on the Sandusky High School grounds.

Officers located both weapons, and also found a knife in Tucker’s pocket.

His disorderly conduct charge was upgraded to a fourth-degree misdemeanor because he was in the vicinity of the school.
