The 24-year-old Remington Avenue woman told officers she left DJ’s Sports Bar at about 4 a.m. Sunday and began walking east on Cleveland Road, Sandusky police Detective Ken Nixon said.

The next thing she remembered was a Sandusky police officer finding her at about 4:30 a.m. in the 2000 block of Cleveland Road. The woman was not wearing pants, and she initially told officers she had urinated and removed her pants because she was cold.

She later underwent a sexual assault examination at Firelands Regional Medical Center, in which hospital staff found evidence of a sexual assault, Nixon said. Detectives are now awaiting test results and plan to conduct an interview.

They are also working to retrieve surveillance footage from a nearby hotel.
