A Sandusky man was arrested for dealing heroin late last week and landed a felony assault charge in the process, police said.

Donyele McLaughlin, 37, of the 900 block of E. Farwell St., was charged with heroin trafficking, heroin possession, assault on a police officer, criminal tools possession, drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest and marijuana possession.

Sandusky police served a search warrant at McLaughlin’s home Thursday morning after receiving information he may be involved in drug trafficking, Sandusky police detective Adam West said.

Officers forced entry into the home, locating McLaughlin in his bedroom, in bed, West said.

McLaughlin allegedly became combative once officers were in the room and he began struggling when they tried to place him in investigative detention. At one point, McLaughlin kicked the chest of Officer Ed Ohlemacher, landing himself the assault charge, West said.

Found inside the home was about $550 cash, along with 3 to 5 grams of heroin, West said.

Erie County's fight against heroin gets a boost

Accompanying the alleged drugs were marijuana, digital scales with residue, and some plastic bags used to package narcotics, West said.

Officers also located some ammunition and a steak knife near McLaughlin’s bed.

Police also served a second search warrant on Thursday at a home in the 1300 block of Carr St., West said.

Ollie Norman, 40, was charged with cocaine possession. Officers served a warrant at Norman’s Division Street home in early January, arresting him then for drug trafficking after locating heroin, pills and $5,000 cash in his home.

But officers recently received more information Norman was back at it, trafficking heroin again at the Carr Street address.

When officers served a warrant there Thursday, they located suspected cocaine on a plate, West said.

West said by the time officers made entry, Norman had been down in the basement, moving around.

“We don’t know what happened when he was down there,” West said.

The biggest gang in the world; cops. Break into a person's house who is sleep & they wonder why the person protects themselves from the intruders. They never solve crimes, but they always violate the law & people's rights. They are hypocritical traffic cops; ticketing people for laws they break hourly. They are supposed to be servants, but they crave power. Covering up for each other's crimes; up to murder with dirty judges looking the other way. There's reports of US Tax dollars being used to cultivate poppies in Afghanistan which produces heroin & US TROOPS guard it. Afghanistan now supplies 98% of the world's heroin. They ship it here, charge lower level offenders with whatever they pull out of their a$$ to populate prisons as a new form of slavery. America has more prisons than every other country. The injustice system, from top to bottom, are the true criminals.
