A Sandusky man was arrested late Tuesday night after he allegedly assaulted and threatened his ex-girlfriend during an argument over their child.
Kelvin Durr, 49, 2200 block Wilson St., was charged with assault, domestic violence and aggravated menacing. The mother of Durr’s daughter called Sandusky police just before midnight. When officers arrived, they noticed two knots on the woman’s face.
She told police Durr had stopped at her Harrison Street home to visit their 20-year-old daughter, but she refused him entry because the woman had just had several teeth pulled and was on pain medication, according to a Sandusky police report.
When the woman turned away from Durr to go inside, Durr grabbed her and the woman pushed him away, the report said. In response, Durr allegedly punched her head repeatedly, then said he’d make sure she died the following Tuesday. Durr was later found at his Clay Street home.
He said the woman scratched him, and he may have “accidentally elbowed her in the face” the report said. Hospital staff informed the woman she had suffered a concussion.
Durr was taken to the Erie County jail.
