A Sandusky man was strip-searched Wednesday after he allegedly tried to hide a bag of crack in his mouth during a warrant arrest.

Mickal Minter, 22, 1500 block Sandusky St., was charged with cocaine possession, tampering with evidence, resisting arrest, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of drug abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia.

Minter was initially stopped by officers for an unprocessed cocaine possession warrant after they saw him walking down Buchanan Street around 9 p.m.

As an officer slapped handcuffs on Minter, he saw him trying to hide something in his coat sleeve, according to a Sandusky police report. Officers located a crack pipe, hypodermic needle and sheathed knife in Minter’s pocket, then noticed something inside his mouth.

After officers tried to forcefully remove the item, Minter eventually spat out a bag of crack on the cruiser floor, the report said.

At the police station, officers conducted a stripsearch but found no other contraband.

Minter was then taken to the Erie County jail.
