Gary Lafferty, 51, 1500 block Hayes Ave., was charged with burglary, a second-degree felony. His girlfriend, Tesia Ewing, 47, 500 block Camp St., was arrested on the same charge Dec. 31.

On Dec. 17, a Franklin Street woman told police her laptop and medications were missing after she had Ewing complete some housework for her, according to a Sandusky police report.

While Ewing was inside the home cleaning, the resident pulled an aspirin out of her medicine bag in front of Ewing, the report said. The bag of pain medicine, as well as a laptop, later came up missing, the report said.

Ewing later said Lafferty broke into the home and she later saw him with the laptop. Meanwhile, Lafferty’s daughter told police she saw the resident’s missing pill bottle near Ewing’s coat.

Lafferty is in the Erie County jail on $20,000 bond. Ewing has since been released.
