A woman called police after spotting the foursome tampering with the downtown Cookie House — home to Sandusky’s Santa Claus — and its accompanying Christmas decorations late Saturday, according to a Sandusky police report.
The group rocked the plastic hippopotamuses, touched the jack-in-the-box display and shook the Cookie House’s backdoor handle at about 10:45 p.m., she said. She described the group as four boys, about 15 years old, two wearing black hoodies and two wearing gray hoodies, according to the report.
Police searched the West Washington Row area and couldn’t find anyone matching the description.
It didn’t appear any decorations were damaged.
