Two people were injured after a three-car chain reaction crash at the intersection of Perkins Avenue and Campbell Street Tuesday afternoon.

Karen Brightman, 66, of Sandusky, and Natalie McClure, 15, Sandusky, were taken to Firelands Regional Medical Center via EMS and Sandusky Fire. Brightman suffered incapacitating injuries, while McClure’s injuries are unknown, according to the Sandusky Police Department.

All vehicles were westbound on Perkins Avenue, with Brightman’s vehicle about to turn northbound onto Campbell Street after yielding the right-of-way to pedestrians, according to Sandusky police. Michael Ringler, 18, of Wakeman, driving a 2010 Ford Taurus, didn’t notice the stopped traffic and struck Doug McClure, 21, of Shelby, and a passenger, McClure, in their 1999 Saturn SL1. The Saturn then struck Brightman’s Ford Escape.

Ringler was cited for failure to stop and assured clear distance.
