St. Mary Central Catholic High School seniors Nicholas Dudenhoefer and Kennedy Gennari were recently named school winners of the Wendy’s High School Heisman Award.
Dudenhoefer and Gennari received the award because of their excellence in academics, athletics and community leadership. Dudenhoefer qualified for the state swim meet this year, and Gennari placed third in the state in the long jump this past season.
Both are members of the team’s Teen Leadership Corps class, which is dedicated to community service. The Wendy’s High School Heisman Award celebrates the achievements of the nation’s top high school seniors both in and out of the classroom. It is recognized as one of the most esteemed awards at the high school level, as it encourages future leadership by acknowledging well-rounded students.
One boy and one girl from each participating school receive the award.
