A Meijer employee is facing arrest after he allegedly tried to make off with pricey gaming equipment through a side exit. Bryan Combs, 25, 2300 block Wells Road, Collins, has one theft charge pending.

A Meijer security officer contacted Perkins police at 7 p.m. Thursday after she caught Combs trying to leave through an employee exit with a bag containing almost $400 in electronics, according to a police report.

The officer stopped Combs before he could leave, and he soon admitted to the attempted theft, the report said.

Inside the bag, Combs allegedly stashed a PlayStation 3 wireless headset, an Xbox 360 wireless controller and a Frozen DVD. Also included were three PlayStation 3 games.

But before Perkins police arrived at the scene, Combs left the property in his vehicle. When officers locate Combs, he will be served his charge, the report said.

It's sad to not just lose a job but make yourself even less-hireable in the future for doing something dumb over inconsequential items.

IT'S ME
